I did it last year and the only knock I have against it was it was really top heavy. I think there was about 1800 people who entered and they paid out the top 50. That really sucks when you place in the top 100 and still loose $1500 for the year like I did

  • Prisoncoptodd

Damn you did good but your right Top 50 pay out there expecting over 2,000 people top prize wil be 1 Million

they tacked on an administrative rake last year

    -EV contest

used to be called the Hilton contest, now it’s the Westgate

    http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/15931626/chalk-supercontest-announces-administrative-fee

LAS VEGAS — The famous SuperContest will have an 8 percent administrative fee taken out of the prize pool starting this year, the Westgate Las Vegas sports book announced on Friday.

Rake started last year nothings for free still cheaper rake then DFS

I won a entry into this back in 2011 from a now defunct DFS site. It was a blast to play in even though i just missed out on the cash by 2 spots. You are right the contest is very top heavy and unless they have changed the rules you must enter your picks each week in person or pay a local proxy company to do it for you…which is not cheap.

  • Prisoncoptodd

Damn you almost cashed I found a Proxy for $175

  • yisman

they have discussed making it available online but the westgate is very backwards so that won’t happen anytime soon

yes, someone has to submit the picks in person before the Saturday afternoon deadline, and depending when you go, there can be lines

proxies are the added rake. They often charge an up front fee plus they want a percentage if you win anything.

    Very -EV.

I’ve never played it even though many have told me I should based on my track record on covers and other sites.

  • Prisoncoptodd

It’s not up to Westgate it’s against the law to gamble but gambling will be legal in a few years not all proxies charge percentage like I said I found one $175 for the whole year

  • yisman

it actually is up to Westgate.

Almost all the sportsbooks in LV have apps and stuff where you can enter bets without having to actually go to the place (they geolocate to make sure you’re in Nevada).

Westgate is very backwards and insists that people drive there each week and possibly wait on a line to submit their picks.

This makes it more difficult and is why proxies charge more.

  • Prisoncoptodd

It’s Illegal to Gamble unless your in Nevada exactly it’s not the Westgate . It’s All Of Las Vegas .Try going to Nevada and log in to Fanduel or DraftKings it won’t let you it’s called illegal .

  • yisman

What part of my post did you not understand?

They make people in Nevada go to the Westgate because they’re backwards. For bets, you can bet on the app anywhere in Nevada.

If they could be entered online, the proxy fees would be less.

It’s a pain in the neck to drive to the Westgate Saturday morning.

  • Prisoncoptodd

What part of my post did you not understand? If you could do it online there would be no proxy it will be legal outside of vegas. But its Illegal to GAMBLE

Yisman, I saw you realized it’s pointless to even entertain arguing with a guy who lacks reading comprehension skills. His final response to your post highlighted further how dense he is. Yisman is saying Westgate should allow proxies (people who live in Nevada) to place their bets online. They shouldn’t have to drive and wait in line to place their bets in person. Yisman is in no way saying Westgate should allow anyone (without a proxy) to place a bet online without regard to whether that person lives in Nevada.

    I was top 100 last year, 57.1%.

In other words, I lost $1,500
