Some food for thought on tomorrow’s Showdown:

Last year Week 19, Freeman ran 10 times vs the Eagles for 7 yards, Coleman 10 times for 79 yards. Total 96 rushing yards for Philly. Atlanta was held to 86 rushing yards.

I’m avoiding the run game. I don’t think either defense made many changes to their roster (unless someone knows of a significant change) which will benefit the QBs and WRs. I think choosing the right WR2 or WR3 will be the key to cashing and possibly tying for first.

I haven’t even entertained the thought of playing McCoy this week…full fade and very comfortable with it

I could see aiming to match the field on Shady, actually. He could succeed at $6k and his ownership isn’t as high as it could’ve been.

Certainly not a play I would prioritize.

I’m going to go ahead and fire up this meme. Not really knowing what to do in week 1 with no body of work to base anything off of.

Any ideas on a possible ownership % for Conner on Draftkings? Thinking he might be a fade for me in GPPs. Too many fantastic RBs in the $5200-$7100 price range. Not sure how I am going to play this. Speaking of fades, Hogan is going to be heavily owned. Texans did upgrade at slot corner this offseason, so depends if Hogan is exclusively in the slot. Not a 100% fade, but man his ownership % is looking crazy. You got Ty, Diggs, and Fitz all around that area with high ceiling potential.

For what it is worth, Case is my favorite QB this week. Will probably backfire, but public perception on Seattle is that they are a good defensive team. Pair him with Sanders or Thomas and call it good. Looking like a funnel defense with a garbage secondary. Think that will keep his % down to reasonable levels.

    Wanna see something weird?

Devonta Freeman Career Yards From Scrimmage, Week 1
    2014: 33 yards
    2015: 47 yards
    2016: 40 yards
    2017: 39 yards

Honestly…they’re completely different things, $6,800 RBs vs. $4,500 RBs. Right now I’d say Conner will be my highest owned player, but that’s partly to do with the price and ownership. If Kamara was going to be $4,500 and 20% I’d be all-in on him too.

Collins and CMC are two potential fades for me, FWIW. I think they have more paths to failure than many mid- to high-priced, relatively under-owned alternatives like Fournette, Gordon, Mixon, Barkley.

Shakier on fading CMC because of the receiving work. Collins doesn’t have half of his security there.

Cowboys defense is better than they are given credit for. When Lee is healthy opposing TE’s and backs do much worse with him on the field. The Cowboys defense as a whole is at its best when he is on the field. Also the Cowboys would rather pound it with Elliot and have long time consuming drives. Not good for CMC. I’m considering a 100% fade on him. Rather pay down at RB and pay up at WR. Don’t forget Cam has his favorite target back and ready to go. That alone will take away some opportunities he had last year of Cam checking down to him. Plus Cam has been seen taking a dive for the endzone before. Not like other teams where they hand it to their back at the 2-3 yard lines majority of the time.

i hear ya, basically im trying to decide if i should drop johnson, cmc or gordon for conner and than pay more at wr, maybe green or fitz.

He’s currently projected sub-1% because people are still wrapping their minds around it all.

Personally I’d guess 15-30% at lock. It’s a soft, value-filled week. Most fish would think you’re talking about Terminator or something.

James White will get a lot of slot reps. Rex Burkhead could get run there too. I doubt Hogan will be there often. Probably a whole lot of Hogan and Dorsett on the perimeter and either a RB in the slot or 12 personnel with Hollister joining Gronk.

Tyreek, Hogan, Diggs, JuJu, and Fitz are all super compelling around that $6k price point.

I’m kind of thinking the same. Around 20% at lock. Definitely the best option in that price range. Lock in cash games, but debating the merit of a fade in GPPs. Think you are correct on the name recognition part of it. Week 1 is full of newer people who want “big” names.

Of the WRs in that area, Tyreek is by far my favorite. I like a lot of players from the KC Chargers game honestly.

Have done a lot of homework, so hope it pays off. All comes down to cracking TE in my mind. Pretty well dialed in on all other spots.

    Anyone on Josh Gordon?

Here’s the thing with Josh Gordon. He’s a decent player but he missed a lot of days during preseason. No telling how he’s going to do. He hasn’t had enough time to really gel with the newbies too. This is why one of the Browns players went off because he was getting tired of folks coming and going as they please and taking days off for no legit reason. No wonder why we went 1-15 in 2016 and 0-16 last year.

  • Dfspacman

Watkins could go off, is Hayward going to be on Tyreek Hill?

  • SilverStone18

I feel like if Gronk was at 5800 on FanDuel you lock him in no questions asked….

Well then…may Mother Football have mercy on your soul.

The public’s main leak in this game—aside from thinking PHI will win, if they haven’t sorted that out yet—is underestimating the likelihood that Julio Jones is the top scoring player. They will not own enough CPT Julio.

I might not own enough either, come to that, but at the very least I’ll die with my boots on.

If Julio Jones is in the captain spot it is more likely than not he will be the highest scorer. But hard to avoid a duplicated line-up starting a line-up with Jones as the Captain ? If one does not care about being duplicated that is fine. Much prefer Nelson Agholor as captain as it give much flexibility in the other spots and then Julio Jones in the flex, add in Matt Ryan in the flex, fill the other three spots and leave a small salary on the table to avoid a duplicate.

Anyone believe in the narrative that Pitt gives Conner a large workload and lets him score a couple of TD’s so they can give the middle finger to Bell and show he really isn’t needed. With some of the players speaking out against Bell it would seem they want Conner to bust out week one but not really sure they will have any say in that matter.

honestly wouldnt surprise me, especially the way the weathers looking right now.

Man I think I’m running Jake Elliott as my captain he seems safe to produce heavy. Foles might be shaky tomorrow night

Kickers are reasonable for cash games as they have pretty safe floors, but probably aren’t gonna be GPP winning. I’ve got 5 lineups right now and have 1 kicker on 2 of them, though if I add more lineups that will still probably be the extent of my kicker exposure

Will he be the overall top 1 or 2 highest point scorer in the game ? Think captain spot should go to the player that has the upside to finish as one of the highest scorers. Then you can use the other 5 spots to differentiate.

Any love for the Redskins D? Arizona gave up the third most sacks last year and Bradford is the exact opposite of a mobile quaterback. Washington’s D was 7th in sacks and 9th in picks last year

New OC in Arizona. Won’t be 7 step drops with Palmer holding on to it. Bradford will be getting it out quicker. That’s why I like Fitz and Seals-Jones.

Cleveland’s run game is nothing to scoff at. They were 4th best last year. I don’t think Conner is a free square like so many other people do. I definitely don’t believe he’ll be in a GPP winning lineup.

Don’t think he’ll be top 2 but top 5 I could see it. Elliott has a leg made 6 50+ yarders last year

  • Smallchimp

Are the Browns’ rushing stats entirely honest or is there an asterisk next to them? By that, I mean are the Browns good against the run regardless of situation or are they good because of anticipating rushes in situations where the opposing team is running the clock? I ask because I see the stat flaunted around a lot and honestly I wondered if it’s been measured in any way
