Im here to tell you the rams are putting up 28 at least tomorrow.

West coast teams traveling to the East coast are a thing, think I’m staying away from this game.

I wouldn’t disagree mid season. The first game shouldn’t be an issue

I happen to agree with you but in the case of the Panthers…I really think they stink. Obviously this forum sees it the exact opposite but I don’t see what the love affair with the Panthers is.

In Draftkings’ Casual Tiers NFL contests you can theoretically play a QB on 6/8 roster spots. According to projections this is the way go. But seems wacky. Am I missing something?

Honorable mention in the SNF game (shout-out my Yahoo! players who like rake-free GPPs that aren’t even 40% full yet) goes to Vance McDonald, who I don’t think it’s crazy to consider as the #2 receiver in PIT by season’s end.

They only take paypal right? I can’t remember my password for Paypal and it’s not apparently an easy thing to get. I would play on there otherwise.

David Johnson might be my favorite play of the slate

It’s tough playing an 8K RB that should have a hard time getting 40yds rushing this game. Snacks made it impossible to run on DET. I think he catches a lot of balls but even an 8-50-1 line doesn’t do much at that price without rushing production.

  • parrothead112

CleverGroom, thank you. That is some analysis I would pay for.

Yes. I don’t think Carson/Lockett would be a bad cash play and Lenny/DEDE is a better one. Either of those combo’s should dominate production for 2 teams with high totals in pristine matchups for both.

Today’s NFL AB news is like my wife watching some “House Wives of ????” Series on TV. Way too much drama that I could give a sh$t less. But I got Brady on season long… maybe his stock just went up.

I’m looking at it as a home field advantage plus what’s going on with Gurley and a Cooks not playing on turf deal. Not in love with the Panthers but think they come out ahead.

YOu think that’s why they are planning on going 12 personnel more this year? Not sure most think about it but it effects Kupp’s snaps too if they do.

It could be part of it. Could see 21 personnel too, especially with early-game passing packages that include both Gurley and Henderson.

McVay went into the Super Bowl with one plan: we’re going to do what we always do, and you’ve gotta keep up and stop it.

Now you’ve got a confluence of things: the OL is in transition, Kupp isn’t 100%, Everett has shown flashes and accumulated more experience, you’re comfortable enough with Higbee that you just extended his contract, Henderson gives you a second receiving menace out of the backfield—not to mention a RB who won’t get stoned every time he tries to carry out of the shotgun—and the realization is dawning that maybe one game plan built on one formation won’t get you there. Maybe your passer needs to grow out of the most basic, QB-friendly system you were able to imagine.

Not that I mean to cast shade here, mind you. McVay’s 2017-2018 system was brilliant. It allowed Goff to go from a fantasy zero to hero. It baffled DCs who couldn’t tell which of hundreds of different permutations he was going to run out of that static, expressionless base formation. It won games and put them in the tournament, right up to the end. It was a good plan until it wasn’t.

I don’t trust Goff to implement any new wrinkles while he’s under more duress than he faced last year. I especially don’t trust him in week 1, coming off zero preseason action—a spot where he only managed a 55% completion rate in a drubbing of the Raiders to start last year.

I get why people want to buy the dip on Goff. I’ll be receptive to that later this season. Week 1, traveling all the way east for an early start, rusty as anybody in the NFL outside of Le’Veon Bell, visiting a frisky team with Ron Rivera’s back to the wall…it’s a lot, man.

Just because Goff’s in a dip doesn’t mean he doesn’t have further to fall.

    Lol thanks, guys.

In all seriousness, my single entry this week is win-or-go-home. I probably will have to pick up my ball and go do something that pays for the rest of the season, alas.

    D Johnson or L Bell?

    @monarch said...

I dont believe they can. Al Davis would have probably sued at least five people by now….I doubt Mark Davis does anything.

That would make sense, yet from a legal perspective the Raiders didn’t receive any consideration for their picks, unless the “opportunity to potentially have AB play for them” can be viewed as consideration.

Not sure that matters in NFL trades though.

    I think that’s right. What a shame.

Part of the overlay situation is that they’re all 10-entry max or single-entry on Yahoo. Means they need more individual humans to fill these things, since nobody’s playing 100+ LUs a pop (for better or worse). I haven’t done real well there, but it’s clearly down to my choices and variance rather than the 0-12% rake and friendly payout structures.

Those two are going to be low owned. I’m not playing either but of the two I’d go with David Johnson for a variety of reasons.

I quite agree. Won’t play either one, but if I did, it’d be DFJ.

It’s so easy to forget—almost dreamlike—how DJ was used back under Arians. They botched that so wildly last year. They even talked about what they were doing wrong, then didn’t fix it. It was incredible. Now he could be used every bit as much as a WR as a RB under Kingsbury. You can just forget about all the carries up the gut in the preseason.

Bell has a lot of the same things going for him, of course (high pace-of-play, offense that probably passes to him and Ty Montgomery instead of running). I just like DJ’s defensive matchup a bit better and think he has more chaos weighing in his favor. We know less about how Kingsbury will adapt his system to the NFL than we know about Gase’s system. It’d be wrong to play either of these guys in cash, but in GPPs, chaos is your friend. DJ can harness a lot of it in a true ceiling game.

FanDuel sportsbook has leveon bell’s o/u for carries at 16.5 and targets 3.5. If bell is going to get 20 touches or more sign me up on fanduel for 7900

Love love love bell tomorrow – feel like he is going to be dangerously under owned and have a slate breaking 30 plus point day

What is wrong with playing a $7100 leveon bell in cash – assuming he is going to get 20 touches or more depending on game flow
