I haven’t quite figured this out yet: when T. Benjamin scored that touchdown, my lineup (which had him rostered), went up in points but down the leaderboard. I don’t even know which players to root for, my guy scores and I go backwards?

Did you have the ravens defense? Considering Benjamin was highly owned, it makes sense because alot of people have him without the ravens defense.

I’m with you on this. I am playing the draftkings Monday night special and I swear, whether I pick the 3rd string RB that goes off or the chalky star player…my lineup always sucks.

Anyone else play the Monday night special? How do you know if your eliminated or not? It’s like everything I do, there is always someone in front of me that has my same players and more?

Only two real possibilities, some had Davis going which isn’t likely or it was a slow stat update on Hartline’s points that updated along with Benjamin’s points.

Also defense scoring changes and extra points for kickers. Usually doesn’t mean much in larger slate but with only 2 games 1 or 2 points swings moves the board a lot

  • BobGrinder

Pretty sure Davey only plays DK so no kicks and I assumed since he didn’t mention DST that he didn’t have one going but you’re right those are possibilities.

For smaller slates (primetime slates), is it best to simply go all chalk with 2 punts thrown in as well?

I just cannot figure it out.

So if you end up in the top 30 in any of their GPP’s, you get one of those tickets? Or only their big football GPP’s each week?

No, it was just for the players who placed top 30 in the $50k Feast GPP. There is other tournaments that award a ticket to it but I’m not 100% which ones those may be.

As for the GPP, it’s a $100 buy-in with 1st place receiving a trip to this years Super Bowl.

Just means more people had some combination of Benjamin/A Davis/Coons/Ravens D

I QUIT DFS….Again, I literally get to experience the adrenaline rush of being in the top 10….BUT WAIT….ITS BLOCKED……which again I would be okay…but its not just blocked…its returned for a TD….which essentially is a 11 point swing … -3 from the field goal, -6 for the TD, and of course -2 for the blocked kick… WTF…..the fantasy football gods hate me and every player I pick on my roster…. oh i pick McCown….he’s knocked out of the game at start of the 4th. i pick Gronk…oh out for the season….Thanksgiving games….oh Romo ….out for the year, Rodgers shoulder injury, ROETHLISBERGER, Concussion…. oh i fogot..to mention.. im responsible for the Steve Smith and Forsett injuries too….the sorry ass performance by Brandon Marshall bad..Hurns injury thats me… I am the kiss of the death to a player simply by selecting them on my dfs roster. I should get prizes for most injured players or ruined careers. someone write a blog on who i shouldnt pick…so they can help someone else win something…. Every week on Monday night football….i hear things like…“Starks hasnt lost a fumble since 2011 and hasnt fumbled in over 300 carries…..” next play…week 2 against Seattle (when i had him on my roster) he fumbles….losing me more points. Jamal Charles, Lynch, Luck, and Freeman….all me……just let me know who needs to be knocked out of a game on the first play like Ryan the beard Fitzgerald was a few weeks back….or when I picked Ryan Mallat to play because he was the starter that week….and after a couple drives he gets knocked off the entire team….. I need an exorcism on my DFS roster so i can friggin field an entire roster one week…maybe instead of being 8 points away from victory every week, I can actually win my share of the pot…like they promised me in the Advertisements. those are worse than your best friend calling you a puss because you said no to another shot….“ah come on you puss…..one more!” which makes you feel like its a contest you have to win…..down goes the shot, the hot flash hits, then the sweats, for a moment you think you keep it down, and shake it off…..just when you think you made it…..HURRRLLL !! all over the floor….. thats what I feel like after my first 12 weeks of DFS….my noob blinders are off…..no hope… just certainty that someone on my roster next week … will play their last game of the 2015….watch….it will happen…. now taking wagers for who that player will be…..HEHEHE..

Just gotta take your lumps while learning. I’m new too and for the most part barely cashing or losing every contest but also slowly getting better and smarter every week. I’m sure every successful grinder on here took quite a long time to hone their research method and strategy and you also can’t do anything for when the ball doesn’t roll your way. Maddening at times, yes, but this is pretty damn fun at the same time and maybe, hopefully, also a little lucrative down the road. You have to understand there are so many seasoned players out there that you’re going to need to learn, learn, learn to begin to cash frequently and that’s only going to be just barely clearing the money line. Respect the skill of and learn from those who have been at it for some time and it will eventually start to click. That’s my plan at least!
