It’s been all the talk – SOFT prices this week. I’ll note what stands out to me, feel free to add.

    QB:
Rivers ($7,000). How his price went down I have no idea. Yes it was against the Jags but the Jets aren’t too much better at defending the pass. Jets are great against the run which makes Rivers need to throw it even more. Love him here.

Big Ben ($7,500). See Jax D.

Brees ($8,900). There is so much value everywhere else this week, I think you can afford Brees here. I know he’s been awful but he has his best matchup of the year and you have to think we’d see his old form at some point right? No better time than this weekend against a pretty poor Tampa D – oh and they are at the superdome.

    RB:
Bell: ($7,300). Jags D and Bell is a beast. If you are going to pay up for an RB – this is the guy to have.

Murray: ($7,500). Houston hasn’t been great against the run and I think Murray has a good day, but I’m not sure if he will hit that 4X mark. Think Bell has a better chance.

Ivory ($3,100). This pricing is unreal for Ivory, who has had a great season. Hoping the newbies will be too focused on the guys up top to scroll down for Ivory. He has great value here.

Jennings ($5,500). Again, a better price than I expected and possibly his best matchup of the year. I am staying away from Manning and the receiving core this week because I think they will be so focused on the run. Jennings is capable of being the top scorer this week for RB’s.

Martin ($6,100). Great matchup and you know they want to keep that Saints O on the sideline. Murray just torched them and Martin could have a big game here as well. He is still a little higher priced than I’d like to get him as this tourney you will need 4X value at every position to make any kind of $.

Bernard ($6,700). NE just got gashed and are on a short week. Bernard and co. have had a week off. I look for him to have a big game and also be a possible top scorer this week.

Sproles ($5,100). His price makes me take a look at him because if there is anyone capable of going off, it’s Sproles. They get a decent matchup and are at home.

    WR:
Brown ($8,100). It’s the Jags and Brown has been a beast this year. Think it continues here. Only thing that worries me is that they jump out to a big lead early and focus on the run.

Harvin ($6,100). The way to beat the Redskins is through the air and everyone knows it. I think Harvin could easily have a big day here.

Quick ($5,900). The Rams really don’t have another quality receiver to throw the ball to. Was hoping he’d be a bit cheaper but in what could be a game where they need to throw to keep up, Quick has the opportunity for a great outing.

Benjamin ($4,800). This one had me scratching my head like the Ivory price. He is obviously their best receiver and it’s not close. Cam loves him, and the Bears just got torched by Rodgers and Nelson. Prob my favorite value play at WR.

Allen ($5,800) and Royal ($4,400). Look at what Nelson and Cobb did. Detroit torched them without Calvin. Jets will be traveling across country – love the matchup.

    TE:
Walker ($4,300). Really soft for this guy. He has been great all season.

Bennett ($6,000). His price tag has finally caught up with him. As long as Marshall is iffy though, it seems as Bennett is the main benefactor of those targets. Tough matchup this week though.

Donnell ($5,700). Think a ton of people will be on him, esp given his matchup. That said, the Falcons are bad on D and he is a matchup problem for anyone.

Cameron ($4,400). Guy has a ton of potential but hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He’s back now and has a good matchup.

Miller ($4,000). Good value for a guy going against a Jags D.

Daniels ($3,300). Pitta is out and Daniels had a decent outing this past week. Colts have struggled against the TE this year. Great value here.

This looks like good advice. Can you recommend a defense or two?

  • fantasybullybusters

gotta throw kelce in that mix after last nights game..

  • Affanculo_

Thinking maybe Bishop Sankey is in a good spot for a breakout this week. Shouldn’t be getting blown out at home against Cleveland, so it’s easy to assume that they give him more touches this week.

  • colorrain15

I see great value in some punt plays on all skill positions. Too bad bridgewater is on thursday night. How do you guys feel about bortles on QB? or even Kyle in buffalo with sammy watkins combo (gpp)

  • Affanculo_

Kyle Orton – 400 yards, no touchdowns. Poor guy, lol.

  • Unsaid

Nice write up!.. I like Tate this week Vs. Bills. He is due for a big game and what better time to do it than at home Vs. a terrible pass D.

  • HuckPig

dright, you got some good stuff over there!

definitely agree Kelce is a great option.

For D’s, I like the Chargers at home vs a Jets team that is turnover prone and has to travel across the country.

I have also been looking at Sanders for $5,100. Peterson will likely be on Thomas and Sanders has been raking in the receptions this year, just hasn’t had a TD yet. Think that could happen against the Cards. Also like Julius Thomas a lot with how poor the Cards are against the TE position. With some great value at punts, you could even look at a Peyton/Thomas/Sanders lineup.

  • HuckPig

I think with the flex, you have to look at the WR position. The RB’s just don’t go off like the WR’s tend to, at least not with the price. Lots of options of guys that could have 20pt+ days in the mid WR range that I’ll be looking to fill my flex with. Iv played with a RB at flex and it has rarely panned out, at least not in GPP. You gotta go for the big potential guys.

  • YachcikjDFS

GPP Flex is WR as you need all the upside, H2H & 50/50 is RB/TE as you want to have a lower floor.

    hmm interesting

  • thuffman64

Really agree with everything here. Some unbelievable value this week at skill positions that can really allow you to go for a big time QB

  • HuckPig

ya i’m thinking of going for a lineup with Manning, hoping that he may be lower owned with his high price tag. I am also looking at Luck. The matchup with Ravens always tends to scare people off. Also, for whatever reason, people don’t think of Luck as often. The tough part with him is who to stack him with. He just spreads the ball around so much.

kind of disagree in PPR. Also I think you mean higher floor.

I agree with a lineup for each based on the price creating low ownership. I’m the biggest Colts fan you will find and even I have no idea who to stack with him! It is really exciting as a fan, but sucks as a fantasy player!

Looks like Wayne is coming along… Stacking a healthy Bradshaw isn’t a bad idea either

  • HuckPig

i want to stack Hilton cause he has that home run threat – more so than any other Colts player. Problem is when they are in the redzone, they don’t look his way at all so he’d have to make a big play for a TD. Again though, if anyone on that team is gonna make a big play for the O, it’s Hilton.

  • EJM

What are the feelings here on Clay Harbor for a sneaky value play? I mentioned in an earlier post that I think at 3000 he could be a decent play this week. Last week he got a hair under 15 fantasy points and was the leader in targets, catches and yards for the Jags and that was against a Chargers D that ranks third against tight ends. This week he will have a much softer Steelers D that ranks 28th.

  • Braden22

I write on my blog and I like how we are in the same mind-frame for some of these players. I do Fanduel pricing and such, but it’s awesome seeing others write for different sites but with the same sense and direction I’m going in! Keep up the good work!

50/50 lineup on FD: Luck, Murray, Khiry Robinson, Keenan Allen, K Benjamin, Quick, Owen Daniels, Vinatieri, Lions D

GPP: Russel Wilson, Marshawn, Ivory, D Hopkins, V jackson, Percy Harvin, T Kelce, Matt Bryant, Lions d

Thanks for pointing out Ivory. He wasn’t even on my radar. His price drop puts him right at 4x value as long as he maintains his average output so far this year.
