    One more day!

Good to have hockey again! I don’t post a lot, but I read the forum everyday (I think this is my 3rd or 4th year playing NHL DFS?).
Username akdarstudios on DK. The advice and opinions in here are a big help. I’m going to try my hand at some NHL prop betting this year. I’m doing ok with my NFL props, so I’ll give it a try.

Smash mackinnon’s shot over prop bet every night. He’s gonna hit it more times than not.

Need to remind myself again about goalies.

You don’t need the stud goalie on the best team to score big points. It’s not about the win anymore with the new DK scoring. It’s about shots against. You want to pick a goalie who is going to get peppered and hopefully come out with the win in the end.

Going to try and stick to the rule “never play a goalie above 8k”

Do NOT roster chalky expensive goalies. I needed to hear and reiterate this again, so for that i thank you! – I like your rule, i’m going to try and follow that to some extent also.

**116 consecutive days of hockey starts tomorrow, excited would be an understatement…

I don’t know if anyone gets it or if you had to do something to activate it, but I got a free $10 ticket on DK by depositing $5.

As I understand it, that’s an important/relevant rule for DK. On FD, chalky/expensive goalies that are (almost) guaranteed a W are not a bad play much of the time unless that expectation also comes with a VERY low save total. That extra 12pts for the W usually matters a lot, especially on smaller slates.

With the new Utility slots finding roster value isn’t going to be nearly as difficult when you can punt an extra low-salary D player that can hit value. It’s very early in the season (Landa doesn’t do NHL too, does he?) – but so far I find myself picking a ‘sure-thing’ goalie first and then moving on from there, which usually isn’t my normal strategy by any means.

Thx, I just deposited and received a ticket as well. I don’t recall any promo or doing anything to activate it either.

    Rake on puck drop entry=$1.50

1/10: If Tampa Bay wins, $5=implied value of $3.41
1/11: If McDavid scores, $5=implied value of $2.08
    1/12: If STL/COL 6+ goals, $3=implied value of $1.60

    (DK countdown promo)

I just made a $5 deposit after seeing this. It worked for me as well. It did say “CAN only” so possibly only available to Canadians?

So, I just read that Draisaitl and Kahun played together as kids. I verified, and they played 3 years together, at 14, 15 and 16 years old.

When they were 15 years old, Draisaitl had 192 points (92G, 95A) in 29 games. Kahun had 206 points (69G, 137A) in 30 games. The third best guy had 72 points.

    That’s just insane!

I glanced through the first 2-3 months schedule and it looks pretty good – lots of large slates and a LOT less of the funky scheduling from last year… usually at least 4-5 games/night at a minimum and barely any 2-game nights. Should be a fun DFS season.

    Great news!

My good friend Dakota Conroy played with Leon in the WHL on a few different teams and had absolutely massive seasons. When Leon made it to the NHL my friends stats steadily declined until he was no longer relevant. The teams they played on together were extremely stacked (Morrissey, Jost, Leon). But Leon just makes his teammates better… Just watching the decisions he makes with the puck on his stick, its not really much of a surprise how well he does.

    Lezz go NHL
I wanted to say THANKS for all of the forum contests. NFL was a train wreck for me this year, but NBA is looking up. Can’t wait for hockey!! GLA

They’ll be a dangerous line, with Yamamoto! EDM1 is still a great line (altough I don’t like Kassian for DFS), but EDM2 could do well too at a reduced price at least for now.

Must be nice to play with someone who’s now in the NHL! I never did, but my brother played with and against a few.

I feel like Kassian is an intriguing option, most people leave him out of EDM1 stacks and every now and then he puts a couple in the net. When your playing with players as skilled as Connor and Nuge, the opportunities present themselves. I try not to leave him out because he does offer extreme upside, in his interviews the last couple days he looks fired up. I could see Connor involving him in the play early in the season to light a fire under him. I do like EDM2 along with a sprinkle of PP1 stacks (don’t forget EDM game stacks).

Yeah i have had a few friends play hockey at a high level. For the ones who didn’t make it, most are struggling with the reality of real life… A lot different being alone all the time and not being around the guys.

Is LHQ going to support Yahoo NHL? I don’t see the Specialist projections there.

The NHL announced that 27 players had confirmed positive COVID-19 tests during training camps, which concluded Tuesday.

Of those players, 17 were members of the Dallas Stars, who shut down their training facilities last Friday after an outbreak. Dallas’ first three games — at Florida on Thursday and Friday and at Tampa Bay on Sunday — have been postponed. The defending Western Conference champions are now tentatively set to open at the Lightning on Jan. 19 in a Stanley Cup Final rematch.

      RG Tiered Ranking

I have dabbled a little in NHL in years past but never much and always by hand. Figured I would use RG premium since I have it to get in on the action. I see they have the stack options in Lineup HQ and all and I am trying to get a feel for it. Also, I see they have NHL DFS Stack Value rankings which you can sort by value/projected points/avg sal/avg cap. Seems like that can give you a good feel for which lines offer solid value.

Couple questions: 1) Say I want to make 20 LUs, what is good base line for stacks to have in the pool? 4-5 Lines? Maybe a couple mini stacks tossed in there as well? 2) In the utility spot should we always try and use a C or W? 3) I don’t see any ownership up yet but I assuming maybe tomorrow they update that? Also, is it pretty accurate?

Any other tips for using Premium to build LUs?

    Appreciate any help!
