Wonder how much it is going to hurt me by using an Arizona stack as my core to build around.

Kuemper in goal with Stepan -Kessel and maybe Ekman-Larsson

Hopefully it’s a sign of a good season coming and not the old poker adage “Never win the first hand”!

    Good luck tonight everyone!

Hard to say how Arizona will do this year, and starting out on the road isn’t ideal, but Anaheim is a bad team. I think is a strong possibility of some low-danger shots on Kuemper and him getting a 30 save, 1 or 2 goal against, win.

Why leave Keller out of your core?

  • Galchy27

I like NYR zibby/buchnevich/panarin to shred a terrible WPG defense.

I like MTL 2nd line for value: Domi/Suzuki/Lehkonen

Rangers fans…Fox or DeAngelo or same difference?

  • PhoFever

Let me say how happy I am to be back amongst this crowd for another year. NHL season + RG thread is always the high point of DFS for me.

I can’t imagine using Arizona as a core stack with so many big home-ice offenses in play (sorry Randy!) I understand the Kuemper logic but prefer Gibson; may pivot to Darcy later tonight if my lineups are lagging and I need to differentiate.

I’m always hesitant to play rookie D their first few games because you don’t know if a coach is going to give them 12 minutes or 20 minutes.

Fox’s D is certainly suspect at this point, so I am fading him for a bit (which could mean I’ll lose out on a few low cost good games), but he doesn’t project to be Hedmen-level this season (or perhaps ever) so it’s not a huge fade.

DeAngelo I also rarely play because he is so inconsistent, but I’d likely play him over Fox if forced to choose between the two tonight.

I decided to spread the risk instead of going all in with my lineup yesterday and it cost me $3.5K. Now if I do the opposite I’m sure my lineup won’t cash, so here’s to spreading again!

Fox had the whole training camp and DeAngelo did not. Fox looks good and I think will be a better player in the long run.

I would probably play Hajek as a punt first. He looked real good end of last year before the shoulder injury ended his season, and he is a top prospect.

Thanks, I got a little top line rangers stack going, then am using strome as a cap saver, and had 3700 left for def, so I figured a pair him with a power play 2 defenseman for some correlation.

@RandysCrow: I might go the other way and roll an Anaheim stack. I’m still undecided.

@Njsum1: I really wanted to play Fox at a low price, but $3.7K seems high for so much uncertainty. DeAngelo is a GPP play. Basically a floor of 0 but he could score 2 goals anytime.

Salaries are weird. There are some great middle salary plays.

At D, the only ones who have a floor that’s not 0 are Josi and Weber. Those guys are peripheral studs. Not as much as Edler but still.

Two seasons ago, tonight’s slate would have been very easy: just play COL1 with all possible lines. It could have worked last season too. Now for tonight, I’ll have some for sure, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Also, Tyler Johnson is way too expensive. He’s centering two studs and could very well score a hat trick, but I have a hard time playing him at that price.

Felix, what’s your approach to the Habs tonight? Suzuki punt?

I know that Pionk is not-quite punt price on DK, but he is min. on Yahoo; I think I’m on board. Also, Olofson is a lock for me on all sites. I never trust PIT to dominate an inferior opponent on home ice and I think Murray gives up 3-4 goals even if he ends up with the W.

  • Syzltuth

The larger slates make my head spin trying to guess which lines will do best so I’m going light tonight in the main. Have 3 lineups, 2 are copies of my turbo entries. Last night my late slate lu scored 150 while my main did 128, so throwing those in today in case they blow up again. My third is just a fun mess of randomness with a dirt cheap goalie and dmen and then high shot guys

Thanks…I might end up playing neither of them…or just sticking them both in a lineup and hoping for the best 🤷‍♂️

I’m a Habs fan, but I’m also a home teams fan. All season long, I like home teams, but even more at the beginning, because it’s the first few games in front of their fans, so players have a boost factor.

I don’t think I’ll play Suzuki. Yesterday, in a 4 game slate, I had a lot of duos and one offs (Matthews, McDavid, ROR), but tonight, I prefer full lines.

  • mr_papageorgio

TB1 is expensive but they’ve had a long time to sit and be mad about getting swept out of the playoffs so I think they come out and smash tonight.

I always appreciate your conviction on this point. Last night home teams were 3-0-1. Tonight I see similar success but it may be tight in TB, PIT, COL so I’ll be doing some contrarian stuff in some lines.

For some guys, splits are insane. Over the entire last season, Barkov had 14.8 FPPG at home vs 9.7 FPPG on the road. That’s 1.5x!

Having to wait until 9:05pm for the slate to break will be difficult, wpg vs nyr the second slate breaker

Going to be looking at the home faves but can’t keep my eyes off the flames.. thoughts on them?

  • klubba575

TB looks to be the team in the best spot as the Panthers were serious goal givers on the road, how much will Bobbers slow that down?
