I feel left out and need some NHL talk back in my life. Perhaps this will evolve into a blog. Today there were some happenings!!! I’m sure yisman (or many others can help me) but here are the highlights:

Just saw this one Joe Pavelski to the Stars.

    Panarin to the Rangers (expected)

BobRov to the Panthers (good Bobby Lou replacement)

    Nyquist to CBJ

Filppula back to the Wings (not really noteworthy but I’m a Wings homer and like the move)

    Myers to the Canucks

    Zucc to the Wild

I’m missing a lot but these are some of the noteworthy ones.

In conclusion the Rangers are looking immediately better with the #2 Finn boy already locked up. Hard to dislike the Panthers too as they should have been better last year. More to come and feel free to add transactions or comments.

Yes! Miss the NHL too; was nice to have some news to peruse today.

Sad to see the CBJ breakup, thought at least one of them would stay. Duchene to the Preds is one trade you missed.

Yeah I’m sure there will be more to come. I think because that one “already happened”. Looking forward to see what the Rags have in store.

Also missed the Kessel trade to ARI (woof for him).

As the 2 teams I follow the most. My Breakdown, Duchene was never signing with the CJB…..He has been building a house in Nashville. As far as 1 that frequents the ‘Rivers Casino’ and is VIP I’ve Kessel their many nights before games and have talked to him on occasion but also keep in mind Ruthford is not bright at all.

Yeah I didn’t think Duchene would resign. Especially after the start he got off to there. NSH will be interesting and their GM is smart on the other hand.

Get the feeling when Phil plays PIT it will be the ultimate “revenge” game. I guess he was ok with living in ARI since he didn’t veto there.

And then there is the Aho “offer sheet” from the Habs; we’ll see what happens there. I certainly like them for an 8th seed playoff spot if that happens.

  • OttawaCityMadman

Good laugh for Ottawa fans. Spezza to the Leafs! Freakin hilarious. Lol

  • yisman

I was thinking of starting a thread, actually!

Lots of news the last 24 hours.

    Most recent:

    Islanders re-signed Lee
Canadiens tendered a big offer to Aho
    Devils signed Simmonds, one year

Didn’t see that one. That could certainly be interesting. Don’t think CAR will let him go though.

On that front Shaw back to the Hawks.

Feel like 5 mil was a lot for Simmonds. Though I do like him and the Devils adding him.

  • Felixxberg

Aho in Montreal would be great but I don’t see that happening. Carolina will most probably match the offer.

I didn’t post anywhere after the draft but I’m super excited about Caufield in Montreal!

Pure goal scorer it seems like. It was weird how teams viewed him. Should be a nice addition when he gets to play!

That was given that Spezza was going to the Leafs, was announced hours before it happened. As far as Aho, he could be very well a Penguin to replace Kessel

The Maple Leafs have acquired defenceman Tyson Barrie, forward Alex Kerfoot and a 2020 sixth-round pick in exchange for Nazem Kadri, Calle Rosen and a 2020 third-round pick

Habs thought the term was too much for duchene. Low balling aho is a dangerous game. Bergevin has a big set of balls.

If you’re a Leafs fan you have to like envisioning how those defensive pairings are shaping up. PP also looking even better.

Thinking about that 3rd line is another story. Kerfoot/Spezza/Johnsson? We’ve fallen a long way from the JVR/Kadri/Bozak days.

I think you’ll be surprised but I get your point.

I’m still waiting to see how the rest of the week/month plays out.

my god, my thoughts exactly, kadri has a big contract too from what i recall… does COL know something nobody else knows?

And colorado retained 50% of tysons salary.

    Kadri signed a 6 year deal in 2016 for 4.5 a year.

  • DFSx42

the only rational explanation is they believe Barrie to be a pedophile

Kuznetsov tested positive for cocaine. IIHF banned him for 4 years.

    Interesting.

I saw that! Can’t claim “it wasn’t me” anymore after that video surfaced. Good thing it’s the NHL and they don’t care about that sort of thing lol
