Why can we not combine stacks in the lineup builder? This is essential for MLB and NHL

Good question. I find the Rotogrinders NHL lineup builder almost useless. I need to use Fantasy Labs to build lineups in which I can combine stacks.

  • B_Edelman

There’s ways to do this if you’re creative.

Please elaborate? Do I have to lock in my second stack? That can be quite time consuming

That’s the best way to do it.

Agreed. We are currently working on more generic grouping rules that will let you combine stacks.

Current lineup builder is brutal as is the premium content for NHL.

    I will disagree there.

I think MaxEErnst and JayWilly’s work is very good. some of the other tools, Ive circumvented – but two great contributors in my opinion

You forgot Boggs. Besides those 3, I don’t think the other “experts” even play NHL more than once a week.

Max may suck at DFS this year, and have made a donkey bet that Radulov would outscore Pacioretty, but at least he plays consistently. Can’t imagine I’d feel great about myself if I was behind a paywall but wouldn’t back up my play on my own dime. Pretty clear to me whose advice you should listen to most if you are a sub.

I can’t speak for every single person doing NHL content for RG, but I do know most of us play a ton on a nightly basis. If you are only going by the RG NHL rankings system, it is misleading. The RG NHL ranker only tracks certain GPPs. It does not track cash game (50-50s, BDUs, H2Hs). Unlike other bigger sports (NBA, NFL) it also does not track 100 man leagues or Big Double Ups. So if a player (like me) is playing a ton of cash games and leagues on a nightly basis on several sites, it is not being tracked. Which is very unfortunate. So basically if you are not playing in or have not done well in the four ( I believe that is all) tournament options that RG tracks in NHL, your ranking has suffered. However, it is not an indication of how much someone is playing. Just an indication of how much, or how successful players are in those certain GPPs.

As for me, you can find me (almost on a nightly basis) playing 50-50s, 100 man leagues, GPPs, and posting H2Hs on several sites. I’m not hard to find.

Hopefully this has helped to shed some light on the the so-called lack of playing.

If anyone has any issues or concerns with RG’s NHL content or those providing it, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

You have 5 RG NHL points. I believe that equates to min-cashing a single $4 gpp… once. If I was a paying customer, I would want to read GPP articles or top stacks articles (which are GPP-focused) from somebody that is playing them, successfully, on a nightly basis, wouldn’t I? Cash games are a completely different strategy and GPP articles should be written by GPP-heavy players in my opinion.

You make a fair point, however, I never said I was not playing GPPs regularly, I am, just not the the ones RG has tracked. Which has recently changed, read below. Personally, I would be more concerned about accuracy. If I was reading articles by a writer and he was consistently giving out winning plays, that would be all the mattered to me, but to each his own.

This tracking/ranking situation was just brought to my attention this week, and I have since switched my focus to GPPs that are being tracked by RG, like the goal on FD which I attacked last night.

Full disclosure – Had I known about the criteria for RG’s NHL ranking system, I would have been focusing strictly on those tournaments from the beginning of the season.

As for your last comment, I have to assume you mean cash-heavy players?

Would your RG ranking be higher if you didn’t forget to set your lineup in h2h’s like four times in the last two weeks?

Ah yes. I do remember this. I was trying to play while out of the country. After multiple attempts to stay connected I finally gave up. i had only matched one H2H. Now please send me examples of the other three times in the last two weeks this has happened. I doubt we will be hearing from you again because it did not happen.
