Riviera is a fairly long course that tends to favor players that have a natural power fade. With that said, off the top of my head I know that JB Holmes and Gary Woodland are bombers that fade the ball. Anybody else know of other players that fit that mold?

Wait … Is that Sergio music?

Someone mentions Reifers and he goes 3 putt for eagle bogey bogey.

EDIT not sure if he chipped in from bunker or made bogey. ST is all messed up.

DJ has great course history here.

    was referencing freddie jacobson

  • tprokopenko

Lol uh Dustin Johnson has gotten 2nd here the last two years. So his course history is nothing less than excellent.

wasnt talking about DJ. If you read the post i quoted he was asking about jacobson

  • jeffgo33

Play must be picking up all over … looking more and more like E for the cut.

I will be shocked if it’s even. Players are making the turns and 10 and 1 offer birds.

The course history over the last 5 years was a mixed bag. He didn’t play here in 2011 or 2015, but then played great in 2012 and 2013 (finished 13th and 3rd, respectively), before missing the cut in 2014. I figured that, along with his scrambling ability that you mentioned, and his recent form was enough to make him relatively safe.

Yeah i couldnt remember exactly what his history was off the top of my head. I was along the same lines of thinking, hopefully he can pick it up and make the cut into the weekend

  • thetitanlb

Lol i was not the only one to interpret the message as DJ. All good though. Sergio making a push.

played on PGA on FF for 1st time this week and I kind of like everything about it, scoring system, pricing, roster size.

I went to go sign up just now but it says it doesn’t like my state (MA) – first time I’ve had an issue – otherwise would give it a shot.

  • Dewoc19

Sergio needs to get his act together, running out of holes and needs to pick up at least 3 shots, and probably gonna bogey #3

Oh yeah, I agree. I was talking in terms of it being +1. That’s not happening.

According to his PGA history, he hasn’t won since 2001. He hasn’t made more than 600k since 2011. He has missed more cuts than made the past 5 years. Has not been in the top 125 (which is the cut for keeping your card. None of this makes any sense. I consider myself pretty versed on keeping a card. A win gets you 2 years, not 15. I don’t think he has enough career earnings to be exempt. Im gonna dig deeper on this but when I find the answer he will have made another 4 bogeys and be 5 dtrokes behind the next worst golfer

According to this he is eligible because he is top 50 in career earnings (see 11a)

Already answered this a few pages ago. He, Justin Leonard and Bo Van Pelt are all top 50 in career earnings.

Still too early to even say yet. There are only 76 players at E. I would say wait until half way through afternoon groups but the afternoon will be much tougher if winds do get to 10.

Your problem was taking Na. Terrible fit on this course. He’s one of the shorter hitters on tour.
