RSM Classic – Golf tourney thread

  • BIF

RSM Classic is played in Sea Island, Georgia over 2 courses at the resort (Seaside Par 70 course and Plantation Par 72 course) for the first 2 rounds (every player will play each course once) and then the final 2 rounds are played solely on the Seaside Par 70 course.

Both courses have 4 par three’s; the par 70 Seaside course that the players will play 3 rounds on has 2 par fives while the players will face 4 par fives in their one trip around the Plantation course making for slightly better scoring (to par) with the additional birdie/eagle opportunities.

156 player full field event with the normal Low 70 & ties making the 36 hole cut.

Last year Kisner shot -22 (260) to win by 6 shots with Chappell finishing a distant 2nd place.

Fomerly the McGladrey Classic, it has been part of the schedule since 2010 with the Plantation and Seaside courses put into operation for the first time 12 months ago as Kevin Kisner roared to success on 22-under par.

last year was the first and only time the 2 course start was used.

In Europe back over to the East for the conclusion of the European Tour
I remember the dramatic days of the early and mid 2000’s when the conclusion of the European Tour was the Volvo Open in Valderrama GC in Spain with my favorite tournament hole the 17th, long par 5 over water with anything short dripping back into the lake. Decent memories watching that back home back when the European Tour had soul and a conclusion that wasn’t taking the piss
Regardless, this week is a class field with a no cut event with a middle of the morning start time, which is all gravy
So many options will be fun picking teams. I’m all over Andy Sully and Molinari, Wiesberger and Wood too, Larrazabal down low

Ive guessed a lot of people use thier phone to do this stuff. I can’t..Im not even that old schooled.I am sure it would take me 20 times longer to do things on the phone than on the computer. Well I also dont have a 3G or 4G phone. LOL I had a career at Motorola Cellular but dont know how those work.

I’m at work for 3 more days or I’d be doing it on my PC, The higher powers at work found it necessary to block the DK website on company computers. Its like they thought it would affect productivity or something

It’ll depend on what DK wants to do. The Hero Challenge is an 18 player field and the Euro/Austrailian tours both starts Dec 1

The World Cup and the Franklin Templeton Shootout are team events

The PGA Tour after this week will be off until January 5
