Following post made before NY news broke

    Hey Grinders,

The battle to keep DFS fully legal is still going on in some states, and obviously New York is an important one. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is considering preventing New Yorkers from playing daily fantasy sports. There are over 500,000 daily fantasy players in the state of New York and AG Schneiderman would like to put in place restrictive measures that prevent your ability to play. It’s time for our community to come together and stand up against these unreasonable efforts.

If you live in New York, you can help now. Make sure AG Eric Schneiderman hears from you. Tell him you support daily fantasy sports for all in New York state. Daily fantasy sports is fun, entertaining and a game of skill. NY has bigger challenges than fantasy football.

Please contact the Attorney General Eric Schneiderman via phone, email, etc. at the details below, and visit this URL to petition

Thanks for posting this, Cam. I’ve played DFS since 2011 and would hate to see a NY ban come into place.

  • ClownShoes

Thanks for posting. If NY falls does it go into never never land? Or can it be brought back? I am not optimistic about the situation. I contacted and will make sure others do as well. Honesty I feel like our voice is so small a few thousand emails from us isn’t gonna do anything. Need people with money and clout to lobby chime in. How do we get the high profile commissioners and power players to come to our aid?

Thank you Cameron for posting this. I trust that there is reason to act, but I don’t understand what we’re reacting to. Is there a source with more information?

I have already signed the petition with a personalized note, and I encourage others to do so.

What more can we do? How do we get the backing of the power players so it’s not just a bunch of John Doe players?

fantasy sports was invented in NY – they shouldn’t be banning it, they should be putting together plans for a Fantasy Sports Museum

Ugh ffs. signing petition now. I’m getting that black Friday feeling again.

Knew when I heard the NJ stuff getting covered on 1010 WINS the last couple of days that our lovely politicians here in the city would be salivating at the chance for some attention.

  • electrichaz3

What is this in response to? Did I just miss some recent news release?

The DFS lawyers most likely had a meeting with the AG’s office today and he didn’t like what his investigation showed so he told them his plan. My experience this is most likely what happened and the only reason we are getting some heads up is because the Lawyers DFS hired are former AG’s themselves. Other wise we would just wake up and not be able to enter our accounts

  • jason18801999

I thought we were going to be good in New York too. Especially since Fanduel is operated in New York. So you really think by weeks end? Should I withdraw now?
