Following post made before NY news broke

    Hey Grinders,

The battle to keep DFS fully legal is still going on in some states, and obviously New York is an important one. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is considering preventing New Yorkers from playing daily fantasy sports. There are over 500,000 daily fantasy players in the state of New York and AG Schneiderman would like to put in place restrictive measures that prevent your ability to play. It’s time for our community to come together and stand up against these unreasonable efforts.

If you live in New York, you can help now. Make sure AG Eric Schneiderman hears from you. Tell him you support daily fantasy sports for all in New York state. Daily fantasy sports is fun, entertaining and a game of skill. NY has bigger challenges than fantasy football.

Please contact the Attorney General Eric Schneiderman via phone, email, etc. at the details below, and visit this URL to petition

You know, I saw this coming when advertisements started popping up everywhere for these sites. I can’t help but think that if the industry stayed a bit more under the radar instead of crammed into everyone’s faces 24/7 that they wouldn’t be having these problems…especially because of the perceived gray area that they operate in. This f’ing sucks.

These politicians are an absolute joke, we are all pawns in their game of political advancement and personal recognition. This will no doubt have trickle down effect if nothing is done, so hoping FD and DK fight this with every possible outlet they have, or the industry is finished.

DraftKings tells me it is not leaving the New York market and plans to fight today’s ruling by the attorney general.

  • takeit_ez

We just have to gamble how they want US to gamble … Which is an absurd hypocrisy joke.. United States isn’t land of the free it’s the land of the restricted where your told what you can and can’t do with your money . Such a sick joke

  • mrchuffy

DK and FD need to fight this with everything they have, if NY goes it won’t be long before the rest of the states follow.

Pretty much. They brought it upon themselves. It didn’t help matters when dude leaked ownership stats on Twitter. That’s all it took.

It’s amazing how many government “officials” don’t feel the adults in their state/country/county/city can’t think for themselves. This isn’t a problem in just NY, nor is it isolated to DFS – it’s a nationwide life, liberty and pursuit of happiness attack by TPTB and it’s been happening for a very long time.

The problem you describe is known as “liberalism”, the idea the government knows better than you how to run your life.

  • electrichaz3

Just read on another forum that fan duel and draftkings refuses to pull out!!!!

Will fight the ag. Very happy to see them take a stand.

    Exactly…greed rules all.

  • MrMadness001

Honestly the government reminds me of the mafia. They see this huge and continuously growing industry and since they aren’t getting a piece of the pie time to break em down. And seriously these letters and petitions aren’t going to accomplish anything.

We have been writing and sending things for the past month or so since all this broke. What has that done? Absolutely nothing.

This isn’t liberalism. It’s just a grand-standing politician. He most likely has been bribed, er lobbied by the horse tracks/casinos.

Conservatism is usually the one preaching freedom, yet restricting it every chance they get. But I digress
