The Olympic course looks very hard. Sandy / Links style with a LOT of wind. The most undulating fairways that I have seen.

  • Brian6035

I hate the pricing in the Olympic event.

  • tprokopenko

The pricing is actually the only thing I like about the Olympic event. I’d rather they didn’t even offer it, and just gave us bigger John Deere tournaments, but at least they’ve prevented everyone from just stacking the top guys and force you to make a couple choices.

  • tprokopenko

I’m curious if anyone is going to just screw off after rounds 2 or 3. What if you are in 50th place going into the last round? There is no incentive to try and move up the standings since there are no payouts, and you’re not gonna get up to the medals at that point.

It’s horrible once again – this is a no-cut event so it needs to be MUCH flatter. Top 3 guys are way too high for a no-cut event and the 9.9-8.2K tier is very tough to play as there are comparable golfers for much cheaper OR you can go up to Kuchar/Kaymer/Reed/Watson.

I made 30 LU’s and I’m done – every time I’ve casually made a LU on my phone it matches one I already made. Probably have 80% Bernd and 80% Colsaerts (60 player no cut events suck), and I’m sure I won’t be alone.

Well they at least put a $300 qualifier for the John Deer, so I can use my ticket for that one instead of the Olympics.

I will be joining you in that one I think. Cant see risking the ticket on event with no idea how it will play out.

    GOLF CHANNEL
With golf’s return to the Olympic Games for the first time in 112 years, Golf Channel will present 115 hours of tournament programming, surrounded by in-depth analysis previewing and recapping the competition and highlighted by live coverage of the Men’s and Women’s Olympic Golf competition (Men’s: Thursday, Aug. 11 – Sunday, Aug. 14; Women’s: Wednesday, Aug. 17 – Saturday, Aug. 20). In total, Golf Channel will provide nearly 300 hours dedicated to Olympic programming in August.

Similar to NBC Sports’ all-encompassing coverage of marquee events like The Open and Ryder Cup, NBC Olympics’ live coverage of the men’s and women’s competitions in Rio will begin with the opening tee shot and continue until the medals are awarded. Golf Central’s Live From the Olympics also will provide wraparound news coverage immediately prior to and following live coverage of the competition. Additionally, NBC will feature live look-ins, highlights and updates on the golf competition throughout the Games.

I will be part of the “not participating in the Olympics DFS” group (and not just because of Zika).

I’m working on my Dear John letter right now for the other one.

    HAHA! Love this.

We aren’t real thrilled about a 60 player, “flacid” priced (see what we did there), no cut event on Draft Kings.

That scares me as well but I don’t think they would diss their counties like that. (or at least u would hope)

  • mschu1213

Theres no chance the olympic birdie fills right? Cant imagine making 150 teams with that field/pricing. What a complete flop by dk this week

I think the fact you are representing your country is enough of a deterrent here. I could be wrong.

This is my first year in 12 that I won’t be doing ShotLink at the JDC, thanks to the date change and my dad being in Germany. If anyone has questions about the tournament or course, let me know.

who is hurt or sick going in?

So it looks like Grillo’s clubs got lost through his airline and he’s not playing the Olympics if he doesn’t get them?

I’m surprised if they have that much riding on the line that they rely on the airlines vs something with insurance like FedEx/UPS.
(for Olympics or even reg events – maybe even more for the latter since it is money)
If I had even $50k every week potential that required me having specific clubs, I would have redundant sets and ship each set via a different carrier.

For me though, I’m not sure I would score any better with clubs than I would without.

Hell if I know. I live in Texas.

Maybe we should have separate threads for each tournament?

Ha, I was thinking more general things about the course or tournament itself, not insight on specific players this year.

  • Brian6035

I can not construct any lineup i like that includes an american golfer.
