For a no cut event I’m happy where I am day 1. I expect a lot to change and some of the “big” names to improve a lot. Should be a fun SD slate and tournament because I have to believe the T10 will change quickly.

On another note, go Sepp Straka! Picked him because I knew he could score from birds, BOFR is the icing on top.

Yeah, a lot of the scrubs have had their best rounds and guys like JT who could’ve had 5-6 birdies today just didn’t roll it in.

    Really impressed by Casey.

Remember when JT won the PLAYERS he shot +1 in the 1st round and then proceeded to lap the field after that. Ball striking was there, only got in trouble one or two times and was able to get out of it.

I’d expect the top part of the talent pool to go low today.

  • cnages24

JT was the ONLY guy to not record a birdie in Round 1, and only 1 other guy had less than 2.

Yeah I’m pretty “even” across the top and didn’t really take a “stand” on any one guy. Really need “the Mullet” to get going though!!! Hughes would help greatly as well. Down low it’s gotta be Sabbs.

One competitive round in the books, so I assume players will know how to attack this course. From the little I watched “pin hunting” is the way to go here. Ready for day 2 but not sure I’ll like the swing from my lineups. Only Olympics I’ve really watched so far.

Waking up to see Wu Ashun’s eagle taken off the board to be replaced by a bogey and an added bogey after play resumed

  • lfn1992

The key to me is the 30 golfers still eligible for the U70 bonus. Morikawa, Mac Hughes, Rory Mac, Conners, Mats just squeezed in at -2 and if they go low all four days and get into contention for the medal, they have a chance. That’s why Wu Ashun’s kick in the nuts after I went to bed was so terrible.

    Who is the Mullet?

P.S. I have plenty of the Canadiens too, including a few with both Conners and Mac Hughes.

The Aussie Cameron Smith! Think somebody on page 1 or 2 shared the Twitter link of his hair.

It was page 4 from Wander! https://twitter.com/GolfAust/status/1419972079517147148

I’m actually doing good on a few lineups. I’m 985th on DK on that $700k Gold Golfer entry (42 points away from #1) and 387th on the FD $125k Wednesday Olympic Golf thing (41 points away from #1). Now watch, this is when my train wreck will start. I’ll probably have a few golfers boggie themselves to hell all the way to last place or have a few WD due to testing positive for COVID, so I’m not going to be quick to celebrate. Let the train wreck begin, lol!

I picked Wu Ashun to win his Round 1 3-ball. I thought I lost it but then saw Max Kieffer at +2 and Campos at +2

Ha! Only put him in one. And The Mullet is the only one not under par in that l.u.

Pretty bad round but once I saw the hair and “fair” price I hammered him in. Well I guess on 8/30 but still!

At least we don’t have to scratch him off as a missed cut before the 2nd round even starts.

That is great and also terrifying at the same time! I’m worried some of these guys blew their load too early and will shoot down the leaderboard. It’s still wide open as the scoring is clearly out there.

There isn’t any real time strokes gained data out there for this is there? If anyone has found this can you link it?

This guy is scaping the data from the Olympic website. Link is in the tweet

I also pulled his sheet into google sheets and refomatted with a heat map to read it a little better

There will be so much movement in teams day to day. I only entered 20 but it has a similar feeling as entering 150 in terms of not understanding how my picks will turn out until the last half of Sunday.
