What is the general consensus on people multi-entering the same lineup from a single username into a tourney? Just tonight, in the NBA $0.25 Arcade, a guy takes 21 of the first 22 winning spots because he had 21 entries of his 1 lineup. So 21 spots of prize money are now cut into by a single lineup being multi-entered by a single user. I think this is part of what is killing the fun of doing these tourneys. You’re not just against someone with 20 lineups that are different, you are also against guys who max enter the same lineup 20 times.

Aside from single entry, would really like to see tourneys offered where a single username cannot multi-enter the exact same lineup combination more than ONCE. A user should not take up a large percentage of the prize pool with 1 LINEUP combination. To me, that’s ridiculous and it looks terrible.

    Tonight’s tourney:

No offense taken. I hear where you guys are coming from but I stand firm that the train thing is yet another issue that looks terrible at the end of the day in tourney standings. It’s not just about me losing, of course I wasn’t happy that the train pushed me way down the line. It’s the fact that it makes GPP’s, which are already nearly impossible to win due to needing essentially perfect lineup combinations, even more insane to win now because you also have to fight off some guy with a perfect lineup that was entered 20 times.

The more insane it becomes just to place in GPPs, the less people are going to be attracted to them long-term. Online poker tourneys rewarded people in a perfect fashion where they felt rewarding even if you didn’t place in the final table. On top of that, you didn’t have ONE guy’s train take up a whole final table and prize pool. The GPPs are already top heavy, now you got some guy taking up the first 20 some spots. To me, that’s not healthy.

It’s all good, though. It’s just my personal opinion on it. Seems like the majority in the forums don’t mind them.

I love the “problem that affects only me will take down the DFS industry” argument. You literally are the only person who has ever complained about a train in a multi-entry GPP. 99.9% of the people on here would salivate at playing against people who put single entry trains into multi-entry GPPs. Then again, those people also realize that DFS is hard and they have to work at it and get lucky at the same time. You seem to recognize neither. As such, please send me h2h contests on both FD and DK.

You could take everything in your paragraph and apply it to your own opinion, too. Just because “you worked hard” or whatever that means at DFS doesn’t entitle your opinion over anyone else’s, either. And playing you in a head-to-head doesn’t affect an opinon, either. Go wave your little e-peen some more, though.

And your opinion on the state of the industry is no more or less factual than mine. Do you see their bottom line? How do you know what the average player is thinking when they see a lineup train push them out the money. 10 people in this forum doesn’t account for the majority nor for the average, casual player. I respect your opinions and all, but we just see things differently on the lineup train thing.

Agree to disagree on the lineup train thing. Meanwhile, rakes are going up and prize pools are going down, but the state of the industry must clearly be okay right? Right.

I have a question, that may or may not have been answered, I havent read the entire forum…Is multi entering the same lineup in the fanduel BIG double up also -EV? I see it’s very popular. Just wondering how it compares to entering a bunch of single entry double ups.

There is only one way to “solve” trains

the winnings scale against entries made

you could also disable trains altogether but im not sure you understand whats at stake by doing so, you would effectively be cutting off a Large playerbase more importantly the money these players are pumping into the overall system,
i think fair to assume at least 50% of the pots are made using their money (at least)

side note sharks may be brute forcing wins but they are also funding pots that may otherwise be limping out the gate
these pots would likely never come close to getting filled if not for such players.
we are exactly in peak DK/FD times especially with legal betting coming to a computer near you in the states and thats why they are focusing a lot of resources into that future.

I like it! You know to cater to your guys’ point I think the sites should do LINEUP TRAIN NIGHT where you can only enter if you plan to enter one lineup combination 20 times because you have balls of steel. Call it the BALLS OF STEEL TOURNAMENT. Then we can all watch as 5 guys take down the ENTIRE PRIZE POOL. LOL :)

This sounds awesome, I’d be in….. i mean we could just raise the prize pool 20x and enter a lineup once instead… but i think the trains going back and forth would tilt users more and add more comedy
