I woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise that my account balance on 1 site was larger then expected. Looked at my history and the site paid out a small contest as if I had finished 1st even though I finished top 15. About a $400 difference. They’ve since corrected the mistake and my balance is where it should be.
Ethically, I feel that my account is where it should be so shouldn’t worry about it and move on. But, isn’t the sites responsibility to make sure all payouts are accurate? Part of me thinks once the site pays out a contest, it’s final, it’s not my fault they made an error and I should consider pursuing the difference. I mean what if I entered $400 worth of contests this morning. What do you think?
