Dk Salaries have been released for anyone not busy with football this weekend.

Conway farms, par 71, 3 par 5s and it looks like possibly a couple drivable par 4s.

Only one prior tourney at this course the 2013 BMW where Zach Johnson was the winner and Jim furyk shot a 59.

  • ninerzfan8

Had to start this because I miss my golf.

Liking that DK took the drive the green to 700K guaranteed this week but left first at 100K and not something stupid like 250K. Finally at least a slightly flatter payout.

Looks like day and speith are guaranteed top 5 going into the final, so there could be a lack of motivation (no I’m not saying they will wd)

Anyone in the top 29 can still get into those top 5 spots so there could be a lot of motivation there.

And of course there is the battle to try to get into the top 30 for anyone below that.

  • JSteele

Stenson has been playing great these playoffs. Also like Spieth to get back on track this week. He took some time off golf and he should come back in and take over that top spot again.

  • ninerzfan8

Yeah I really think this will fit spieth well, played pretty good in 2013. I like him on a course Johnson has won on as he seems like a similar golfer to Johnson just better at everything.

I do think he’s going to want to get things on track going into east lake.

Also like Sergio on the mid price range, he’s done nothing but take a couple weeks off and they forget about him

Matt Jones price jump is nuts, now at 7900 and even with sneds? More than Casey, Mickelson, and Simpson all of a sudden?

Bohn back near the bottom after a mc on a course that didn’t fit him.

I played Bohn a lot last week and he obviously burned me, but … why do you say it was a course that didn’t fit him?

What I saw was a guy who couldn’t hit a fairway, a green in regulation, or make a putt all weekend. All things that he’s generally better than most at I think. Pretty sure he was well below the field average in all three stats in his two rounds.

But I can’t see anything about the distances, the fairway sizes, the difficulty of the greens, etc. etc. what would have caused this. At all. Just a dud. It happens. Whether he bounces back is anyone’s guess …

But – I’m not being argumentative – I’m really curious what is fueling the “course that didn’t fit him” crowd re: Bohn last week.

Yeah, the course fit him just fine, he just didn’t play well.

Moving on, the prices are a lot better this week. More guys over 10K and fewer guys under 7K will make some choices interesting.

Just my opinion. Seemed like the par 5s were going to be difference makers last week and he’s a short hitter with a poor par 5 birdie %.

He normally excels at fairways and greens with great proximity and takes advantage of par 4s. That course had an extremely small number of standard par 4s for a tour course. Of the 11 2 were under 370 yds and 5 were over 460. The long ones he’s definitely at a disadvantage and the short ones his short and straight advantage is negated because of the ability of the bomb and gougers.

If you look at the 21 guys that finished t12 or better something like 75% were top 65 or so in drive distance or par 5 birdies. Most better and most in both.

I say all this with the caveat that I had rose , koepka, and finau all over the place last week and got my ass handed to me

  • hokie2009

Ok fair enough! I was just curious. All in all I may be crazy but I’d pick him again on that course at that price given how he’s played this year, driving distance or not.

He was just atrocious. Couldn’t hit the ball onto the fairway. And even when he had a great approach shot he’d often miss the green. In normal circumstances I mean 150yd approaches and the like. Usually gains strokes with his putter and I think he hit a miracle or two to make his putting look better than it was, but yeah … just a total dud. We’ll see what happens this week!

  • ninerzfan8

Yeah for sure I’m curious how sometimes people end up on some guys all the time. I was on bohn heavy prior to last week and just wasn’t feeling it.

Hoping this week goes better because people are too busy with NFL to research. At least 6/6 is easier.

Not to look ahead bit are people going to actually play dfs for the tour championship? Seems like random luck when you have 30 golfers who are arguably all good or hot

  • hokie2009

6/6 is def easier this week, you will need AT LEAST 6/6 if not 7/6 in order to cash GPPs.

I’ll be playing. In some capacity. But both this week and next week deserve special consideration for what types of contests you’re playing and how you’re playing them … still swirling it around in my head but there are the compounding factors of increased number of entries WITH decreased golfer pool to deal with strategy-wise … and we’re back to the no-cut …

I kind of look at this tournament as a cousin to the Bridgestone in that regard … I think the BS was 75 golfers and top 50 in the world, this field is 70 golfers and it’s the top 70 in the PGA … so … yeah …

For cash games it interests me because there’s no cut so there’s less chance of being punished for a single horrible round, and everyone in the field gets all 4 rounds to return to their norms or averages or projections … so yeah … looking forward to it!

Excited about this one with the pricing the way it is this should be great!!!

    • 2015 FAFC Finalist

So Zach Johnson won here back in 2013 and Furyk fired a 59… Sounds like a course that doesn’t necessarily favor the bombers… Think I’m fading Day and Rory this week.

  • catt0025

Back to the Koepka well? Reasonably priced, but with two MC in a row…. he played so many tournaments that maybe the MCs and a week off will actually do him some good to rest up? Has so much talent and for his price and ability/stats related to the course, seems a good play… thoughts?

  • JustGetMetoSunday

I’m somewhat new to fantasy golf I thought 6/6 meant six out of six selected golfers making the cut. This weekend EVERYONE makes the cut, so even the worst performer will be playing on Sunday, right? Because this weekend there is no cut, right? So that begs the question (that I’m sure everyone else on this Forum already knows. Again, sorry, I’m new), what does 6/6 mean if it’s not referring to the cut? Or am I misinformed and there is, in fact, a cut this weekend?

Thanks in advance for educating a newbie!

    And good luck to everyone!

  • GhostaVeli8701

I think you’re trying to convince yourself that he’s the best play at his price range. His form is bad right now and mentally just isnt finishing. With no cut though I like his scoring ability.

  • catt0025

Yeah you’re probably right…. more talking myself into him than anything…. hmm.

I dont like his 50-125 stats, but like his 175+ (obviously)… and as pointed out by Hokie, he’ll need the 175+ shots on a few of the key holes on this course.

Think I’m fading Day and Rory this week.

In 2013 Day finished T4 and even though Rory finished T59, he closed the weekend 68-68. So if you’re using course history to pick Zach and Furyk, or similar golfers, those two have also shown success here.

  • Zwett

    Bump?

  • ninerzfan8

I think we lost all our golf guys.

Warning to all I’m finally just sucking it up and taking streb and dealing with the 30% ownership. I’ve been fading him too long.

I did the same thing with finau last week and look how that turned out.

Back on bohn this week. Taking mostly ballstrikers. Know I’m going to regret having no stenson or matsuyama but that’s the way I’m leaning right now based on what I want to put out there

  • catt0025

I’m with you on Bohn and not having Stenson or Mats…. Also trying to decide between Streb and Kisner for my cash lineup. Could also choose Koepka over either, but with 2 MCs in a row it feels gross.

  • hokie2009

Any informed opinions on Paul Casey as a W/D risk?

The obvious is obvious, he W/D last week and has a decent track record of W/D’ing in general … so yeah … pretty impossibly speculative question, but figured I’d throw it out there …

Any body have any thoughts as to why he IS a withdraw risk or why he IS NOT a withdraw risk (compared to normal) outside of the obvious?

  • ninerzfan8

Thoughts as to why he is not a wd risk

He had 2 weeks between tourneys not just 1.
He was already guaranteed going to get into this tourney, but he needs to play well to move on.

Thoughts on why he is a wd risk:
I have him in a couple lineups

  • ButteredBuffalo

Because of the WD, people will be fading him. Expect a low ownership, which could be very good for GPP lineups if he performs decent.

  • codyallison1026

Feel free to fade Kevin Na if u hate money

  • noddy

    Where’s all the golf talk?

  • IronMonkey415

I’ll probably give Rory Sabbatini a try this week.
