Let the discussion begin with best “value” players, key stats you’ll be targeting & your favorites to win it all.

  • blue

    seems cheap at $5,600

  • RangerC

Well I had Lowry in 3 of 5 lineups – might have to rethink that as now he will be heavily owned.

  • boisethunder55

    Whistling Straits Kohler, Wisconsin 7501/72

Who do you like?…and Good luck going for that million everybody.

O/U on Lowry going 20% or higher

Sabbatini at $5600 looks good on paper, there’s a ton of value under 7K this week but if the stats don’t match up I will gladly fade those super cheap chalk guys.

forgive me, new at this…what stats are you referring to?

  • RangerC

Matt Jones is ridiculous at 5.6K – he could easily miss the cut (inconsistent) but a guy with 5 top 10s (and a 30th at the Open) in the trash bin has to be a misprice.

  • GhostaVeli8701

@blue just whatever stats you prefer to target when making your picks. Example: the course this week is another long beast with a ton of bunkers and a lot of par 4 holes. I would look to target driving distance & accuracy stats when making my picks.

Easily under. I say 7-8% range.

I think he was more than that at the Open where he was 8.1K, and not coming off a win. Hard to tell with PGA ownership but 15% seems more of a realistic floor.

He was a great pick for the Open due to his ability in poor weather and on links courses. He’s often considered one of the best (if not the best) links player. He was around 1% in the U.S. Open, and obviously his ownership will see a bump with his win, but can’t see double digits.

  • GhostaVeli8701

I think it’s gonna depend on how much hype he gets this week from the experts, Straits is suppose to play like a links course too so you can be sure a few people are gonna be mentioning his strength in these types of courses.

+1, regardless of his outcome at The Open, he was a solid choice, but also was highly owned due to being one of the best Euro options in an European event. This week with the soft pricing, even with the win I doubt he will be highly owned.

    how many will own spieth?

    14.3%

The interesting question will be McIlroy’s ownership.

Jones could be cheap because he’s relatively bad on bentgrass greens:

    Matt Jones ( -0.449 sg:bentgrass vs. 0.226 sg:total )

Rickie Fowler on the other hand, loves them:

    Rickie Fowler ( 1.7 sg:bentgrass vs. 0.578 sg:total )

After this past week my confidence isnt to good. What a crappy week.

This course has 4 par 5’s so who ever said another course with lots of par 4’s it’s back to the norm with 10 par 4’s instead of the 11.

  • DK_Ninjaaaaa

First glance value plays: pat perez, Geoff ogilvy, j bohn and a ton of guys between 6800-7000 on DK. Don’t shy away from guys that where hyped at the past couple majors that should have done better like fleetwood, Sullivan, Lowry would have made this list too but had an awesome showing this weekend. I think the general masses will forget that chambers was a terrible course and a lot of guys had to play on rough weather at the British. Happy grinding this week folks!

Whistling Straits plays nothing like a links course, so I’m hoping some people do pick their golfers thinking that it does. It kind of looks like one, layout wise, but doesn’t play like one at all.

  • tprokopenko

Jim Furyk saying that Whistling Straits is not a course he’s comfortable on. Maybe he’s pulling a Zach Johnson and will go out and win now.

Rookie question; kopeka has shorter odds (30-1) than zach Johnson (50-1) yet Johnson’s salary is higher. Why?

Pricing is driven by many factors, one of which is odds but it is not the only thing they look at. Some other factors may be recent ownership %, expected ownership %, and major championship performance history
