Just curious to see others’ thoughts on this subject since it was discussed by the fantasy talking heads at the end of this week. Given the microscope that has been placed on this industry due to greed and poor, reactionary decisions, why would sites continue to run slates like these? Sure, you need two games to make it legit, and other than making a couple of extra bucks, why risk unnecessary attention? Are those of you playing this slate doing it just for fun, are degenerates, or are you investing heavily?

Personally, I have no interest, but some talking heads suggested the NFL is for this type of slate because why else would most fans watch the Pro Bowl, particularly since it doesn’t have the star power it once did when it was at the end of the year in Hawaii.

I would like to hear why some think that including the pro bowl in a DFS slate could be a game of skill vs. more luck or why you think it is a slate for degenerates.

No, DFS is never to be compared to gambling. You know better than that. Shame……

And yes, I’ve made money 3 out of my 4 years playing DFS, you?

On a DFS site of course DFS doesn’t wanna be compared to gambling. Everywhere is biased. I have my personal opinion but would probably get blasted if I post it here.

  • Mattg45

I’m definitely throwing a few gpp entries in but I don’t think people are really taking this slate too serious. Like others said it’s just something fun, to me this slate is more like an office pool, I’ll put a few entries in and hope I win, if I don’t I won’t lose any sleep over it.

You can look up the previous years scores and stats on nfl.com under “scores”, then “post season.”

  • Putz

Hopefully your strategies pay off. Good luck.

  • Myballzachertz

Was I wrong in playing all Super Bowl and one from this shitfest they call the Pro Bowl? I thought that was the correct strategy but every GPP im in it seems like most have multiple guys in this Pro Bowl.

The Pro Bowl is all about big offensive plays, and I believe the D can’t blitz or stunt, at least those were the restrictions on the D years ago.

Just found out this game was going up against Grease Live on Fox… game over Pro Bowl!

  • Myballzachertz

Oh well most of it is on my draftkings tickets I just know they have to feed a lot of egos in this game and a lot of in and out. I’m sure I won’t cash a dime.

  • cy1985

DK did this contest last year too. You have to have a few of the PRO bowl players to win. It’s as simple as that.

  • Drayzen

Irvin is playing agressive. If you don’t have some Irvin players it’s gonna be tough. Wilson already with 2 TDs. Just heard Irvin on the sidelines “It does not need to be a close game”.

I bet it’s a close game. Irvin is all talk.

  • jtwfantasy

    No Russel Wilson no cash

  • notfast1

Guess fading Pro Bowl guys wasn’t the smart play….damn my $4

  • klyon28

I played 6 in the pro bowl. Only one that hasn’t scored is OBJ lmao. But he is 62% so should still get some money. Got Cam, Olsen, and Panthers D in the Super Bowl

  • rvmpj10

Definitily crapshoot and dumb luck cause I came out with pretty much a perfect LU. https://www.fanduel.com/games/14557/contests/14557-22377193/entries/403581586/scoring?entry=403581586. Pretty sure that LU has the top 2 WRs top 2 RBs, and top WR. Up to the Panthers to do their job now

  • infulfx

I just played 1 LU each at FD and DK so I can just watch the Pro Bowl but it was brutal. I couldn’t watch it and also it looks like I donated my $2 lol.

I hate to admit this, but I actually watched the entire game. I was mostly watching for DFS purposes. I wanted to get an idea what the rotations are like. I wrote down several things for next year. By far the biggest thing I whiffed on was TE.

The Pro Bowl has special rules for the defense. Teams are not allowed to play nickel or dime defense (bringing in an extra DB or safety). With a mostly non-existent pass rush, TEs are not asked to stay in a block. That left TEs like Kelce and Walker matched up on LBs the entire game. Like an idiot I have 100% Greg Olsen. My teams are still really good, but I’m probably drawing dead for 1st in a GPP simply because I doubt Olsen will match Kelce or Walker’s output.

  • tvsfrink

I didn’t watch but every time I looked up I heard QB names like Winston, Taylor, and Bridgewater.

    That’s a Pro Bowl?

I played 5 games on dk and only 1 has a chance now, I have landry, kelce, and allan Robinson. The other 4 I got probably have no shot at even breaking the cash line but like I said before I look at this like a football pool, something fun, if I win cool if not I only lose few bucks

  • hoodOO7

I liked the part where it devolved into touch football…So glad I spent any amount of time watching the Pro Bowl

  • Sportsfan12

Didn’t even realize the pro bowl was included in this slate- threw a lineup together fast before the game started which actually did quite welll.

I have $ leftover- would you guys go olsen dt or sanders at flex?

Olsen will be sooo chalky but still will probably have the chance for most pts. What do you guys think)

  • TheRyanFlaherty

Can’t believe every guy I rostered scored a TD EXCEPT Odell Beckham Jr. believe Manning didn’t get one pass to him. Not to mention he had him open in the end zone when he threw that ball to Kelce.

Other than that, can’t really complain…My “Logic” worked thus far. In the money at the moment on both sites with Newton, Olsen, Panthers D and Gano (FD) left. Could end up making money on this nonsense.

  • tvsfrink

This game was so dumb, OBJ could have gotten you points on defense.

  • fanturds

I only started Doug Martin. wasn’t sure between him and Kelce to be my player, so lets see how this bold strategy plays out.

  • joephoto

It was the only way I could play Super Bowl DFS. I played only 2 Pro Bowlers (luckily Hopkins got a late score) and I can now update the rest of my lineup on DK up until kickoff Sunday.
I avoided RBs, there wouldn’t be much rushing yardage. Wish I took Kelce. But I’m alive for the last NFL game.
