    1) In the tournament lobbies, where can I see what the max entry limit is? I’m having trouble finding it.

    2) Some of my friends have received emails saying there will be a limit 1000 entries total for a given slate this year. Is this explained anywhere on the site? Does this only apply to cash lineups or GPP as well? I’m assuming this would mean 1000 for the Thurs slates and 1000 for the Sunday slates for NFL? So for example if someone enters 999 h2h/50:50 games, they’ll only be allowed to play one tournament for that slate?

If #2 works out like I understand it it’s a nice way to keep the sharks out of the lower stakes, but I’d like to see a detailed explanation of this rule on their site somewhere.

Had a nice chat with support.

#1) It only shows on the page where you actually enter a new lineup. This seems a little clumsy to me but it’s not a huge deal.

#2) Right now this is their exact plan. The 1000 number is not finalized and is only intended for NFL, however it should be in that ballpark. The idea is clearly to limit the amount of action high volume players will be able to enter at the lower stakes. I think it’s an absolutely fantastic initiative. If Maxdalury or whoever want to run 1000 lineups in the Sunday Million, they will not be found in any other contest for that slate :)

    Excellent initiative from FanDuel.

    Quote from Kyle B:
“Our team is very diligent about how big we allow our high volume players to get. They still want to give the average player a shot.”

1000 game limit is a slap in the face. That doesnt stop any big bank roll guy from entering everythig from 1 dollar to 5300. Blah.

  • huitcinq

Nah I was playing 800-900 games on sundays last year and I’m nowhere near a big bankroll player

  • huitcinq

To put things in perspective, Maxdalury had 999 entries in the PGA Millionaire Makers.

Like I said in my post, if he wants to do that on FanDuel for the Sunday Million, that means he’s not playing in the $1, $2, $5, $10, etc. GPPs or playing any cash games. Really opens things up for everyone.

completely disagree…think its a good limit. eliminates huge trains in the small tournys by the big players. no way you put 200 entries into the 1 or 5 or 10 gpps because it’ll kill your h2h action

  • huitcinq

Yeah einars, honestly I thought there’d be a lot more excitement about this rule change given how frustrated players on these boards get over massive lineup trains in large field double ups and big bankroll players just taking over small stake GPPs and 50:50s.

Granted FD hasn’t exactly publicized this.

  • huitcinq

This rule guarantees there will not be a single shark maxing entries in any of the small to medium stake GPPs, which will make these contests significantly easier to compete in.

Or another example, this also means not every single 50:50 you enter will have a condia lineup in it.

You should be happy that FD does anything about this, DK does nothing

For a huge sport like NFL, when people play well over a million per week at the high end, the 1000 limit works just fine

  • leafs93

i think this is a pretty great idea as long as its executed in a transparent manner.

    Get those $100,000 H2Hs ready.

I know in the NBA, it was 500 per night. The slate didn’t matter. If I entered 500 in the all day, then I couldn’t play the turbo or late slates.

  • huitcinq

1000 per NFL slate seems much, much more restrictive in terms of capping an individual’s potential % of the action than 500 per NBA night.

  • miller_time

Love this! As a low stake player, it will be nice to see some names missing as the lower levels. Was planning on DK for NFL this year…. May need to rethink that and move some money around.

  • mellofellowsu

Sounds like great news to me!

  • jigandreel

I will be shocked if we go through the entire NFL season without this limit raised. I agree with everyone that it is great for the ecosystem, but it will hurt filling their biggest GPPs. I sense that money wins in the end and this limit is doubled at least.

It’s the same limit they had last year. If they raise it, it will be before the season starts.

what is the enforcement policy? who is keeping count? same as scripts?. You have to promise to be honest LOL

  • huitcinq

lol well I would hope it’s the same way max entries for individual contests work

Nope, it’s up to you, and no, I’m not kidding. If you go over they send a warning. I’m not sure what happens after that

  • huitcinq

    oh boy

  • btwice80

I went slightly over 500 on one of the rare NBA split slates when both were actually playable, and I received an email saying it was my first and only warning, with a link that keeps track of total number of games I’m in each day, and that if I went over again my account would be suspended.

  • huitcinq

    ok that seems pretty legit

thanks for making me feel better

  • deactivated79425

some people had over 1000 h2h posted in the lobby the day after NFL contests were opened a few weeks ago. Are some people allowed to exceed the limit if they ask for permission, like scripts?

  • huitcinq

seems like they were taken down cause there’s no way they filled that quickly

also the emails went out after the contests were opened so that was probably part of the reason why

  • deactivated79425

    makes sense
