    #fakestats!

Ha-ha-ha… I knew $10.2K was too much. I did fade Walker though. I’m not sure which I’d rather have at this point though; Walker or KSDT

    I checked out the ownership projections as part of the free access to premium content on RG this week;

projections are hard, I try to give myself the opportunity to guess while I make LU’s.

I think to evaluate projections we need a system to target the golfers to be evaluated.
    1) all guys above 18% OWNED
    2) evaluate the top 6 salaries, top 3 salaries above 8.3K but under top 6
    3) evaluate top ownership from 8.3 to 7.2
    4) does the projections identify the top scrubs used.

another words ownership on everyone by (within 2% isnt a great metric) I am not sure what would be.

looked at all the golf experts fluff pieces during free look and decided that was probably the only thing I would use and not that interested in others telling me who to pick for my LU’s. Thanks RG but sorry, no subscription for me.

Playing the previous year’s champ worked great with Koepka at the US Open….this week with Stanley it is a little concerning early.

I took enough Billy Ho and Gay to be feeling ok about. Si Woo and Lingmerth could use a couple birds though. Besides Rickie I tried to evenly split the top guys and idk how I feel about that. Very little Holmes and he has been hot. I did put him in my Yahoo single bullet. I didn’t listen to myself and played the “traps” there. This week they were Streelman, Tway, Holmes, and Stanley.

Bif, just got done checking my status and I see you in all my Gpp’s. That is unlike you in an invitational.
:) I guess you had that special DFS feeling going in. Good luck, I will battle all weekend with you (lol I hope)

Anser to 7 feet for a shot at eagle.

Looks like Molinari just splashed it in the water.

Correction – Shot tracker was wrong. Was just the rough.

And talk about chalk! Right at about 245% for percentage haha I mean it is a 100 man SE but still that’s crazy! Streelman lowest at 23.7%.

Yah true – had a little extra time and with the weak field I figured there might even an edge to be had. Also had some extra powder to play with as I had a pretty good last week at Travellers and I won’t be around much next week as I have a big tourney next week which will consume most of my time Mon-Thurs.

Played him in cash for all the salary relief! I feel like he should have been a popular value cash play.

Judging by the touts this week, i really thought ownership would paint more of a stars and scrubs picture, but apparently the weak player pool is not for the faint of heart, and many felt more comfortable making balanced lineups in the 8-9K range. I checked out the ownership projections as part of the free access to premium content on RG this week; and I wasn’t overly impressed. I compared ownership projections to actual ownership% of 45 players (from all parts of the pricing spectrum) in the Drive The Green contest, and considered a ownership projection within 2% of real ownership as a passing grade. The RG projection model only had a 57% success rate, and 15% were what i considered detrimentally (5-10%) off of the actual number. Perhaps a weaker than normal field hurt the RG projection model, and they would often do better than this, but that must be taken into consideration before choosing this as their free access week.

I feel you are being a little harsh…does it matter if the player is 20% owned vs 22% projected or 12% owned vs 10%? If you projected Fowler at 20% and he came in at 22% is that going to make you not play him or even play him more or less? When I look at ownership 5% +/- is what I look at as that could potentially make a difference. In addition many of the players who were missed by 5% this week were players we knew who would be high owned, just not knowing how high owned. In my opinion only a handful at most were missed out of 120 players. Players like Lahiri, Cink, Niemann, and Tway were the only misses. BTW I have two ownership projections and both missed those players.

So far only Stanely/Hoge hurting me. Have a lot of great looks this morning so far. An meltdown would hurt a bit though.
