Are we going to go a site that charges for a monthly sub in lieu of paying rake? Or a site that just uses ads to substitute for the rake. Surely would be interested in a disruptor to the horse racing like rake we experience in the industry. Interested to see what it is.

Rake free sounds great, but I FantasyDraft is a for-profit company. How are they going to make enough money (or, any money at all) to stay in business?

You are exactly right we are a for profit business so there is a revenue aspect to this.

When we launch rake free you will need to have a membership to access contests. We will offer multiple plans based on your level of play each month (entry fees). All in your effective rake will be in the range of .5% – 2%, depending on how close you come to the max entry fees allowed for your plan. Worlds different than the rake everyone is paying today. All plans can be upgraded, downgraded or stopped at any time. There will also be a free membership allowing up to $100 in monthly entry fees for casual users.

As many of you know over time you will pay as much of 30% of your bankroll to the house. You won’t have to anymore starting in July.

This is something I am really looking forward to finding out more information on. Now that Draftkings has been blocked on my work laptop due to being flagged as a gambling website I think I need to look for other options. I don’t own any other computers and even when I am away from the office and at home on the weekends I am blocked out of Draftkings which is annoying to be allowed to access it via the mobile app only.

So far Fantasy Draft is small enough to not yet be flagged as a gambling site so it might end up being my best option for NFL this season.

Plus, we aren’t a gambling site so they most likely wouldn’t block us. FD and DK are both gambling companies now so many companies block them.

That is a true statement and likely why they have been recently flagged as gambling since they both added sportsbooks. I am worried now that Rotogrinders was bought out by a gambling company that this site will be flagged and blocked soon but I hope not.

Loving the rake free. Surely the participation is growing fast on FantasyDraft. It’s only a matter of time until they overtake the big 2, if they continue with this model. I hope they’re wildly successful as this may put pressure on the other sites to move to this option or at least lower their unreasonably high rakes. In particular, DraftKings’ not so subtle rake increase in guaranteed contests a year or so back was a slap in the face of their customers.
