Remember Ollie has scorecard risk. I’m still playing him though.

I’m not a Rotogrinders premium member, but I would guess Ollie’s one of the highest owned all week. He was part of the 7.5k players I was talking about. STLCardinals put up a video with Chad Campbell though, so he might not be missed by people now.

They have Ollie projected around the 15th highest owned golfer.

I believe their projections are for large field GPP’s.

Yah He is one of them who there has not been as much noise on as there should be (or what I thought): long hitter, hits a fade, made 5 straight cuts with two top 12’s and besides an MC here in ’05 he also has a 16th a while back.

JB Holmes was close to making my cut, so I’ll probably regret not playing him. Driving accuracy and some spotty iron play were deciding factors for me.

  • karatesbadboy

Been riding Chad Campbell for awhile but may have to jump off here. Pice is up and he’s more of a par machine cut maker than threat to win a tournament. Don’t like that at $7.5 with what will be 18-20% ownership.

How do you guys feel about Woodland this week? Don’t love him but I need a guy under 8K besides Tway, Campbell, Ollie and Reavie

I have some Woodland (about 25%). But I probably play him more than most people on here though. :)

Also, have some Swafford in that range. They both seem to hit greens and score.

    Any thoughts on these guys making up a decent chunk of my player pool (DK);

    -Patrick Cantlay
    -Ollie Schniederjans
    -Chad Campbell
    -Graham DeLaet
-Smylie Kaufman (With 4 par 5’s he snuck his way onto my list)

Cantlay—-I’m not playing…too long of a layoff for me

    Ollie—I like him this week

    Campbell—I like him this week

DeLaet—most stats that I look at scream “play DeLaet”…but I’m fading him this week. His course history was too much for me to get past. I wonder if the pressure of trying to win on his home turf gets to him.

Kaufman—I rarely get on the Smylie roller coaster :)

Are these touts sitting around a table out in the middle of no where with a shaky camera and picking Jason Day to win this event?

Haha, in a backyard that is overgrown with long FESCUE?

Would you recommend eliminating any of the following from my player pool?

    Tway
    Kuchar
    Barnes
    Cink
    Lingmerth
    Campbell
    Watson
    Lee
    Cantlay
    Furyk
    Reavie
    Martin
    Johnson
    Percy
    Finau
    Blaum
    Poulter
    Shelton
    Bradley

Which are least likely to make the cut? Am I overlooking anyone? I have had a bad run of 6/8s and want to turn that around this week.

Can anyone here explain where Josh Culp, ‘searching for a specialist’ guy, get’s his statistics? Example; how does David Lingmerth outrank Matt Kuchar on his ‘Nicklaus’ course rankings? Is he taking Thursday/Friday rounds only for David Lingmerth? Lmao.

  • mh8235

Looking at the field, they should just make this a 1 day tournament lol…prop bet for Day 1 leader should be fun – DeLaet, Van Aswegen, Hahn, Lingmerth, HVIII….well maybe in HVIII’s case just a 9 hole tournament

    - Furyk because I do not think he will finish high or have enough birds/eagles – Poulter only because he was playing so well at the Open and slid down a bit so am not sure he will be focused ready to rebound a bit – Bradley is just unreliable and always seems to make people who play him pay at the end of the weekend

Just my opinion though so take what you will. Maybe some others will respond as well.

It is their relative success of the particular angle against their baseline strokes gained. So in raw numbers Kuchar might gain say 2.5 strokes on average on Nicklaus courses but his baseline strokes gained in any tournament might be 2 strokes so he’s only showing a 25% improvement on Nicklaus designs. Alternatively if Lingmerth is gaining 2 strokes on average on Nicklaus courses but only 1 stroke baseline in any tournament then he’s showing a 100% improvement for that particular angle so he would be considered more of a Nicklaus specialist. Obviously I’m just making up the numbers to show the math, but the important thing to remember is that they are relative stats versus the golfers individual baseline.

Anyone liking Mackenzie Hughes this week? He may be one of the few Canadians I play

I’m off all Canandians. History of poor showings at their home course.

Fade the Canucks…..Im with you bud.

This year the Canadian passports have done well on the PGA tour. Recent form and course history doesnt add up. Great players just not for me this week.

    There’s a better way…just pick

Harris English, Scott Brown, Bob Estes, Geoff Ogilvy, Shane Bertsch, and JT Poston.

I guarantee if you do, you’ll be seeing “Currently winning (a large number)” at 7:20 AM EST on Thursday. (A large number) usually would be 100k, but smart minds think alike so maybe we’ll see multiple lineups of these 6 players.

You guys are missing Rory Sabbatini from the Thursday Sprints.

Mine is pretty tight too considering I’m playing less overall golfers in more GPP LU’s than normal.

I am in the exact opposite situation. My player pool is the largest it has been all season and that is obviously concerning. Just seems that the extremely weak field but large assortment of decent golfers we have seen perform well at times this season is making it hard to reduce the player pool. May just have to go with some “gut cuts” before lineup lock.

Kelly Kraft – Three consecutive made cuts #darkhorse; Ha-ha… Just trolling you, BIF. His Par 5 scoring isn’t good and he missed the cut at the Memorial so I assume he’d be a non-fit for the course. T26 last year on same course/greens… His price is pretty high, but might be worth a one-off pivot in a mass multi-entry situation.

Just trying to rile you fellas up :)

One golfer I will be overweight on is Danny Lee. I think his “injury” is part BS to be honest. Perhaps he did have a sore wrist but I think his WD from the John Deere was more so out of embarrassment. He did travel to Royal Birkdale as the first alternate and would likely have played last week if given the opportunity. I highly doubt he would have taken the time to fly over if his wrist injury was so painful that he would never play if he got into the field.

Game theory is suggesting Danny will be severely under-owned due to his WD. He screwed me in that tournament but I have short term memory when it comes to being bitter at people. He has a great price and can easily be fit in as a third golfer on a balanced DJ lineup. Of course I also run the risk of him WDing again or playing poorly if the wrist is still a concern but this is a risk I am taking.

I’ve wondered the same thing. Never been able to find a database of strokes gained per tournmanet. Would be very useful.

I thought we would make it to lineup lock without a Kraft mention. I wish he was a 6k range player and I would have had a few shares
