I just turned all my Tommy shares into Sergio. This should go swimmingly.

Curious as to why you did this? Feel like all the Sergio bad form/lower ownership is starting to swing back the other way some and I’m wondering why?

I have a gut feeling this is a letdown spot for Tommy at double the ownership of Sergio. He was in the mix last week so that roller coaster of blowing up might come into play. I also can’t see Sergio continuing this poor ball striking when that is his bread and butter for years.

Probably the main reason I did it is that I am dumb lol.

Nah, no reason to think that way. I’ve just heard some noise about Sergio of late and his form just seems so off. We know how that works though, and guys pop when you least expect it. No reason he can’t crush this course for sure.

Doesn’t Glen Abbey sit in a valley of sorts? I am not sure how the wind affects the course, but I would tend to think with the tree lined fairways and hills surrounding the course, the wind will not be as penal here as on some other courses.

I might be totally wrong though, just a thought.

There are some holes in the valley that run along a creek (think 11-14??) and then you rise out of it. The wind will swirl on the creek/valley holes but you’ll feel it up top everywhere else.

My guess is your using too many stats and trusting them…. When you use the stats, are you doing 12 weeks, 7, 3 ? So many guys, especially on Fantasy Golf Metrics, show up high on the stat charts, but may only have 1 or two weeks of stats and those could be from 8 weeks ago if they take off 6… Just have to be careful.
Myself, I have made it real simple, I cant do what the pro’s do here, very time consuming. So sticking with the same thing seem to be bring me closer, or at least not spending too much

I can’t bring myself to pay for stats so the media guide is the best I have. I’m usually in for around $40 or so/week. Does that justify paying for stats? Honestly curious… So stats, form and course history is where I fall knowing full-well that you have to throw the stats out for certain golfers in certain places/circumstances. I enjoy the puzzle, but I enjoy it a bit more when don’t lose $20/week. Ha-ha… I just feel that, if I pay, I’d have to invest more weekly. At that point I’d be super-mad when I lose. Ha-ha… Again, thanks for all the help gentlemen. We have a good group in here.

HVIII or Dylan Meyer? Can’t decide! Both are long off the tee, HVIII seems to have better scrambling/sand stats but Meyer seems stronger on approach. Any thoughts?

11-15 in the valley. Two par 4s a par 5 and 2 par threes, one of which is very short. Supposed to rain all this week so course should be soft. Played it about a month ago. Course is very open although we didn’t play the same tees obviously.

At $40/week over call it 40 golf tournaments I would definitely be paying for at least 1 site. Doesn’t mean you need to play more. If you get better results due to some extra research then the decision gets made as to spending more weekly or not.

Now I only spend $10-20/week on PGA DFS but here’s what I have seen this season personally vs. when I started last year.

I used Fantasy National last season for a few weeks when I started playing golf DFS and it was free. It changed my perspective and helped me cash initially. I regret not getting in on their initial price deal for peeps who tested it out while free as I went and used a much cheaper site that I will not be renewing with after the 1 year subscription is up and rolling over to FN. So many different ways to look at the players over set periods of time, type of grass, etc. which for you might be the difference between min cash/net loss vs. big week or a BIF type of week.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Good luck this week.

    Yup 11-15
It’s been a while for me (10 years ?) since I played it. I think it was around when they first talked about selling it or turning it into real estate (houses). I had a trip out there for work and stayed to play a few Canadian Open courses (Glen Abbey and both courses at Angus Glen).

I think they are still fighting that but it is likely to be gone soon. The course for next year (Hamilton) is unbelievable.

I’ve got both in LU’s. If you can afford the extra salary I’d lean towards HV3.

This will be nice for the Happy Meal:

Exciting new changes are coming to DraftKings.

For most private user-created contests, you’ll no longer have to worry about your contest not filling.

You can create a contest as re-sizable in the normal contest creation flow, making it so the contest will automatically be re-sized and run even if the contest does not fill.

For example, if a contest is created for 10 people, but only 8 join, the contest will automatically be re-sized to 8 people and will then run. If the contest does get cancelled, we will notify the contest creator to why that happened.

Anyone else playing JJ (i’m inconsistent) spaun this week besides me? Seems to be trending in the right direction again.

He’s on my list prior to making cuts… Ranked first SG: OTT at Quicken Loans, but that was mainly due to accuracy as he was tied for first, but 30th in driving distance (still, not bad). His approach game has also been pretty good on the season.

My personal opinion is that most of the statistics people use in DFS golf are pure noise and do them more harm than good. Ownership flocks based on low-sample, minuscule advantages.

You can do just as well looking at a combination of multi-year SG:Total, form, and course history as you can with with the low-level course correlation stuff.

JJ Spaun is one of the worst on tour in scrambling. If he misses the green in regulation watch out. At Quicken he was firing darts so did fine until the weekend.

About to jinx Burgoon (not that he hasn’t been mentioned), but the more I look, the more I like him for this setup. He’s top 50 in all key stats (on the season) and 8th in Par5 Scoring AVG. Looking a bit closer, he performed very well in the key stats department for JDC and QLN.

    JDC:

    • SG-OTT: 20
    • DIST: 4
    • SG-APP: 4
    • Ranked 1 in Eagles and T18 in Birdies

    QLN:

    • SG-OTT: 20
    • DIST: 14
    • SG-APP: 16
    • Ranked T4 in Eagles and T19 in Birdies

Then I see comments from karatesbadboy and BIF and know I’m doing it wrong :/

Bah… It’s not like there’s some magic formula. My first cut is usually CH/RF, then I get into the weeds in terms of stats.

    Pick two: Dahmen, Vegas, Reavie.

    Reavie and Vegas past champs
