Does Finau play well against weak fields?

Only 3 MCs on the season (19/22) and has win equity; weak field event hadn’t really crossed my mind.

The defensive line this week is terrible, plus he’s tall so I think he can see further downfield than someone like Martin Piller. His lateral moves are slower post-ankle turn, so if DJ can blitz more aggressively this week, then he’s got a chance.

Only real concern is an Open hangover and maybe not as motivated for this kind of tournament as he has been in the past given how well he has played the majors.

I think he wants that next win regardless of where it comes…

I’ll share one flyer with y’all, Lanto Griffin ($6700) – solid recent form in all SG categories, his first time at Glen Abbey though, playing strictly as a low priced scrambling cut maker.

Don’t love his accuracy off the tee for this one, though he has been scrambling and making birds when he hits the fairway off the tee. Not a terrible punt for 6700

Speaking of…. Is week 1 pricing out yet?

Its that time of year again I guess. I thought DJ was more of a Wide Receiver than a linebacker though…

He’s underperformed in five consecutive weak field events including three MCs….

I’m all over him as well but getting cold feet since Bubba is cheaper with more upside.

I’m not sure that A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier was the strongest of fields, but I would expect more than T21 so maybe you’re on to something. I’m going heavy so fade, fade, fade…

I’ve played him a few times over the last couple of months but he strikes me as more of a less than driver / accuracy course guy who can hit greens but doesn’t have big distance. I don’t think this is a great fit for him, but he’ll probably be low owned because of that and there have been some guys who fit that profile to succeed here over the years (i.e. Kuch / Poulter / Furyk)

for cash it’s far and away Finau. Woodland has been shaky at best this year and I would not pay that kind of salary for him right now. In GPP who knows as he played well here last year (but was in much better overall form).

Keep in mind that most of Finau’s worse performances were on courses with Bermuda greens as he has shown a strong tendency in his career to perform better on Bentgrass (like we have this week)

Thanks, but actually Woodland came into last year’s tournament in poor form. In his 6 tournaments leading up to this tournament his best was T40

I looked and saw the same thing. Plus there were a couple of MCs before the T40. I’m throwing him in my single bullet. I was going to use him as the OAD this week but realized I’d already used him in Hawaii for a T7.

If I have to pick 3 off that list I’d drop Woodland and use the rest, though personally I don’t love Poulter here either so would probably go with Finau Bubba and find someone else for the other slot

I would only play Finau in cash but I love all of them in GPP….

So after the lineup my wife picked went 5/6 and turned a small profit last week I let her pick another one this week for the $5. She chose Bubba/Finau up top.
