I hope he misses the cut so we get a discount for the US Open. That said, if he’s $10.5K or under at the US Open, his ownership will be sky high no matter what his result is this week.

They usually get the pricing for majors out early so this tourney wont have any bearing on his price

  • sfguy21

Are you guys putting putting any consideration into fading golfers who are playing in two day US Open sectional qualifiers before heading to this weeks tournament. Could see the lack of a break playing a factor, but not sure how significant that would be.

I forgot about that. sfguy21 is probably right, too. I guess he’ll be $11.2K and I won’t know what to do.

Does the winner of the RBC Canadian Open get an auto-invite to the US Open if they’re not in the field already?

  • Jeddy3

A 9700 chalk Webb in this field seems…questionable.

Looks like two guys I grew up playing with have a real good shot of making it this year. Couple other I played junior am and micro mini tours with need a great second days to have a shot.

Meanwhile as I sit at my desk the feelings of failure, sadness and general emptiness intensify.

Try not look at it that way. It just wasn’t meant to be. Not in God’s plan. Instead, try to accept you have elite talent and a gift that most others envy.

They are not 2-day sectionals; it is 36 holes all played today (unless a weather situation delays it).

Regardless, a good part of this field is playing in a qualifier either in Columbus, Ohio or in Milton, Ontario, Canada and won’t see Hamilton G&CC until at least tomorrow and they’ll probably only play 9 holes max after 36 today and travel from Ohio for some.

No unless it is their 2nd (full Fed Ex Cup points) win since last years US Open

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

No prob – they call this “The Longest Day in Golf” as there many sites where there is a playoff for the last spot and alternates so some guys may play 40+ holes today. Or you can be a pussy and WD after a bad first round (looking at you 👀 Ryan Palmer and others)

Thank for that uplifting motivation, but im not actually all that upset about it. Those dudes were on a level I was never going to reach.

I came to terms with being an elite level beer league and country club skins game player years ago.

I’ve seen 4-5 guys I know play in US Opens over the years. Hopefully this will be the year one of them makes a cut or a decent run.

I actually knew that name now that you mention it. Just completely blanked. My dumb ass forgot that I actually caddied for a buddy during sectionals in 2013.

I made it to second alternate in regionals once, but didn’t sneak in to try my hand during the final step.

Hey guys it’s good to be back. I switched jobs, got engaged and bought a house but now things have settled down. Each week I look at historical performance against only the players in this week’s field. Here’s the analysis:

Hey, thanks! I’ve been asking where you went, but nobody could figure out what I was even talking about. Good to have you back!

Edit: Also, may I ask where you get your historical strokes gained data from, and do you only have total SG, or do you have the other SG categories as well? Are you able to go back to several years worth of data, or just the current year?

    Sent you an email….

I guess I’ll plug in my first 10-15 h2hs right now. Like I said they’ll be mostly $1 but will have a single few other ones. Good luck and I might add some more tomorrow.

Brooks totally wants to win this tournament. He took second place the week before the PGA.

  • dangasin

    Sorry, 4th place

  • dangasin

I think #1 is still up for grabs this week. I don’t know how much the golfers actually care about that though

I mean yeah, he def wants to win going into it. But he’s said out loud and its been seen time and time again, that he doesn’t really get motivated for these small non-major tournaments. His pure talents will always get him in the upper tier of the leaderboard, but he doesn’t get that extra drive from these tournaments that would normally push him to a win.

finally got home, spent the day with old friend who lives in Nevada but here for a few days
Happy Meal is up in league lobby…..so is the PIG

  • dangasin

Its strange he says that. He won the CJ cup the end of last year and has a big percentage of non major events top 10 this year. Maybe non motivation to him means 8th place….
