Wow, got on YouTube to check the course out, these greens are some of the smallest out there and a 192 yard par 3 surrounded by water on the right… nice….

saw you won a satellite ticket for the dogleg, that I was entered in as well. Hopefully you were profitable elsewhere too, good week!

Hilton Head/Harbour Town is such a great place. Its unfortunate the tournament is always the week after the Masters. It deserves to get a much better field than it typically does.

I am still pretty tilted about my DFG Masters Sunday. All I needed to do was have Rory and Fleetwood not completely shit the bed on Sunday and I’m winning money and surviving the the DFG World Cup. Fleetwood’s F-U I-don’t-give-a-crap bogey on 18 is going to stick with me for a long time.

I always thought of Rory as a tough mental competitor. Instead he Leishmanned under pressure. I am so surprised I was so wrong about him.

the biggest what if for Rory would be if he made his eagle putt on 2 yesterday, would have been a huge energy boost for him and meant he would have picked up 3 shots in 2 holes. Instead he walks off dejected and disappointed after hitting a great shot.

Knost was a solid player up until his wrist injury last year. Since his return he has not had the same results. In 2016 he made 19/26 cuts with two T5 finishes to go along with six other T26 finishes. This course is a good set up for his game style but I have no interest in him this week.

DJ only two appearances here. MC both times. Coming in in not so great form. Will be the highest DK salary. Will win by 10 strokes. Welcome to DFS Golf.

To be fair, his wedge game is 100 times better now than it was when he was first on tour which is about when he played here.

Harbour Town has tiny greens and I’m sure he missed a pile of them and his short game/Putter were not his strength back then either.

Will be interesting how his game and head adapts to this course as it is very different than Augusta.

I always miss Euro golf when it has been gone for a few weeks. YEAH

The contests are a joke. I like playing euro also, but not worth the research time this week. Hope DK picks it up when the better tournaments arrive.

    From Wiki

Poulter currently has an endorsement with the following companies: Coolsculpting, IJP Design, Titleist, Nikon, EA Sports, MasterCard, Oakley, Fathead, Audemars Piguet, Marquis Jet.

😂 Poulter sponsored by Fathead !

Yah, that’s what I want – a life size decal of him on my bedroom or rec room wall !!

Exactly, I would want him helping me taking down a GPP or two before buying that Fathead :)

So why is driving distance the lowest here out of any course they play? Is distance not needed or is it just so penal to miss the fairway that you can’t risk it.

    This^^^^

Rory’s putting was not the greatest. I wondered about your exact statement about #2. The perception on the green of 2 was Rory’s semi easy eagle attempt would tie Reed in such a short time. Things were looking good for us Mcilroy owners. If He made the eagle….Does it change the round? I felt the miss gave Reed the opportunity to not sweat the opening bogie.
IMHO, I believe it was one of the many turning points.

Yes I am kinda disappointed. I believed in Rory Speith and DJ as the cream of the crop. I think they all have the champions edge. I guess it needs to be evaluated further. Golf skill has its variance, Winning attitude and never die desire to out-perform others does not.

Pretty sure that on a lot of holes, driver puts you in a hazard that crosses the fairway, one that you carry on the approach? Just a guess though…. this is a small hitters paradise it seems.

It’s obviously still way too early but Sunday looks like it has the potential to be a fun one. Rain and lots of wind.

  • mitchsnyderdfw

Still pretty far out, but the weather for Sunday looks brutal. 20+ mph winds, rain and T-storms.

Could be a bloodbath come Sunday.

  • Quadhole

WOW, Looking at the PGA page for this tour, 40% of my screen is ads for something else, even when I scroll down… Popup blocker be damned, they have bypassed it and went full bore, you will see what we give you and that’s that….

But, I guess that is OK with everyone… Maybe once they get to 60% people will start to care…

Sorry, didn’t update my screen before posting about the weather as well. Saturday looks to be windy as well

  • TrustinthePlan

I’m seeing in a couple of my weather apps that the rain and t’storms may not arrive till mid to late afternoon Sunday. If thats the case, wouldn’t be surprised if PGA envokes the “We would rather get the event done on Sunday” rule and tee off early in threesomes off both sides. Either way though its supposed to be windy all day, 20-25 mph winds with gusts into the 40s from what I can see.

Yes it’s weak up top this week but it’s strong in the middle as there are several great players this week. Kisner, Harman, Grace, Kuchar, Ollie, X Man, Cantlay, Grillo, Knox and I could list 15-20 more easily. My early thought is DJ goes lower owned than Casey since he will be cheaper and everyone remembers his weekend performance at the Masters.

Very True, really strong from OWGR 17 – 125 They are all here…
Last years MC – List, Kirk, Furyk, Lingmeirth, Kokrak, Hanh, Fitz, DeChmb, Hoffman, Kraft, Reavie, Haas, Horshel, all guys you would Expect to make the cut…
    Brutttttle….

Us mediocre players will be out on Friday…

A whole ton of tress along the fairways. Sand traps in some weird spots that come into play also. Plus water.

Great link to look at all 18 holes just to give you an idea in case you haven’t seen this:

    Hope this helps.

From an article on RG a few years ago:

“Still, its many doglegs, tights greens and well-placed hazards mean it can’t really be overpowered. This is a week where power is really not an advantage at all.”
