Okay, dumb question…..Why has Will Zalatoris not received any FedEx points for his play this year? Would a win change that?

    Stricker WD as well.

No Alternates added until field falls to 132, currently at 136.

I will be at the Wednesday practice round. If anybody wants me to check anything out in particular, let me know.

He is not a full Tour Member – he is still playing on sponsors exemptions – technically he has temporary Tour status (meaning he is eligible for unlimited sponsor exemptions) but the point is he is not a full Tour member so can’t accumulate Fed Ex points.

He will be come a full member next season based on his Korn Ferry ranking (and also by the points he would have earned this season) but unless he wins an event (which grants automatic Tour Member status), he is not eligible for season ending Fed Ex Playoffs.

Interestingly though, the Euro Tour counts his points for finishes in Euro or cross-Tour International events (like The Masters) so he is currently eligible for the Race to Dubai playoff events overseas and may be playing there if he doesn’t win before mid August

Edit – to add to this, this process has been around forever and it is how Spieth got his Tour card, he played on sponsors exemptions and Top 10 finishes which you get you in the following week (and not use up one of your 8 exemptions) and then won an event which gave him automatic Tour membership plus it gives him his Fed Ex points retroactively so he would be eligible for the Playoffs.

The only ways to get on Tour as a full member if you aren’t already are: Win an event or qualify through the KFT (Top 25 from reg season or Top 25 in their playoffs).

You can get Temporary status (which Will Z has) which means you are not bound by the 8 sponsors exemptions limit per year – he got this because of his high finishes which would have given him more Fed Ex Points than he needed to earn a card last season.

Always interested to see/hear about length of the rough and if it is 1 or 2 cuts (meaning intermediary strip before the deep stuff) and also the rough around the greens – how much fairway/collar is there before the deep stuff.

If you are feeling generous to the forum:
Take a golf ball with you and drop it in the rough a few places (off fairway and near greens) and take pictures

Appreciate the reply. I was surprised he’s already made $3 million on the Tour this season.

Yah he’ll likely be a Ryder Cup captains pick so he’ll be the first non Tour member to play on the team – well I guess he will be a member by then but still 🙄

Love this time of year in the golf schedule – we just had The Masters, now 5 weeks of regular events then the PGA Championship then just 3 weeks of events before the US Open and after that just 3 weeks of events and the long awaited Open Championship (as there wasn’t a 2020 version).

For those chasing Milly tickets through satellites, there isn’t a ton of events between majors so now is the best time to start stockpiling.

DK doesn’t usually run contests for the Zurich, which is next week. Have you heard anything about contests this year?

If they are not running any, that’s only 4 weeks to accumulate tickets.

If you can close enough to DJ…sneak up and cut his right hamstring just above the knee. Then he won’t be able to follow through on anything…He’ll push everything to the right. He’ll quit the game.

True – I don’t expect PGA next week but hopefully they have the Euro and KFT or LPGA

Happy Meal Cup Standings after the Masters.
    https://1drv.ms/x/s!AiKGps2bl5SRolnM7Awush1WKnLk

hoodsfromthewood takes first and 60pts in his 3rd Happy Meal and Boooooourns takes second (40 pts) and moves up to 13th.

The race tightens up a little. The leader Eric2323 has 140 Cup points. 8 players can take the lead with 30pt win.(assuming the top score 0)

    Here are the top 5
    Eric2323 – 140
    td33dzul – 139
    SleDwreckerZ – 136
    titanhawks – 134
    1971hof – 130

So, DK should have plenty of notice of the Bryson W/D to not include him in their pricing algorithms, correct? Sucks when that high-price range gets all jacked up after a couple W/Ds.

I think a better plan would be for me to roll an eight ball out onto his little putting alignment mirror. That could be the end of the tourney for him.

Will not be going after PGA milli tickets. Milli contest payout structure is gross, much worst than Masters. $20 entry,$3m contest, with 33% to first.

  • timusbr

was putting together my course History. This event played last year, so no break in the history. Wasnt played at its regular time, the week after the Masters but was the second week after the reopen of play.

I laughed at the few comments already made. Like DJ will be a factor (hahaha), Top salaries WD could create havac on salary thinking. This event is another Dink and Donk course. smallest greens on tour. Need to get to the hole following a set path and stick the green with a great approach shot. Recent Past winners 2020 Webb Simpson 2019 CT Pan 2018 Satoshi Kodaira 2017 Wesley Bryan 2016 Brandon Grace, 2015 Jim Furyk. and the runners up are all of the same Ilk

DING DING DING…someone else who is thinking the same as me.

Its fun to play the cheap satties, a good LU makes a dime/qtr/dollar a great Illusionary win. I am not against them, just I did the ticket collection thing and you have to admidt, the losing entries add up and then getting to the actual milly contest….well the above says it all. So on times I got a SE, I will play a few…otherwise, Not gonna go for the ticket collection.

I can’t help it. Already have 4 $20 ones, plus a $20 tennis ticket to the Francaise Open (plus a decent chunk of cash, net tournament results).

I did do much better with my 12 ten dollar tickets than I did with 28 $20 ones at the last Masters. So maybe it’s more than just lineup selection?

Lately I’ve just been getting the value of my tickets back which is ok with me. I think the “chase” is the fun part regardless of what you do with them (though bubbling sucks). I’m upset with myself the $100 NHL ticket I pissed away though lol

I don’t think stars and scrubs will work. Hard to pass over all of that $8-9k range after I lock in Webb/Cantlay.

If you must dumpster dive to pay way up, you could do worse than Bill McGirt or the other Bryson(Nimmer). One a veteran, the other a greenhorn.

Both are the only 2 real locals as they have residency on Hilton Head.

Dirt’s last tourney at the Honda resulted in an encouraging 69-69 start before fading on the weekend. Nimmer had 4 top 25s in Canada in 2019 (Mackenzie tour) before getting covided out in 2020. He’s a Clemson grad and former South Carolina amateur champ.
