Just going by the press release

No prob – I know, I was just adding clarity as most of those guys are the ones we talk about being locals for the RSM tourney

    Seems like an error
That doesn’t make sense to me – DJ was ranked 5th in the world going into the postponed to June 2020 RBC Heritage – how was DJ only $8500 and priced below Spieth who had not won in almost 3 years ? And below Hideki who also had not won since 2017.

I wasn’t making my own spreadsheets back then. That’s from the Mark Miller doc I saved. Possibly I made a sort error when adding in the salaries? I checked the week before, Charles Schwab Challenge 2020. Had DJ at 9,500.

Was looking at Dylan Fritelli for a bounce back this week after the high finish last year, but I think most of that was due to him shooting 62 on Sunday, otherwise he finishes middle of the pack.

Golfers that Noddy didn’t own for 1000 Alex.

Love this time of year in the golf schedule – we just had The Masters, now 5 weeks of regular events then the PGA Championship then just 3 weeks of events before the US Open and after that just 3 weeks of events and the long awaited Open Championship (as there wasn’t a 2020 version).

For those chasing Milly tickets through satellites, there isn’t a ton of events between majors so now is the best time to start stockpiling.

Thanks. I would like to get a few.

EDIT – found the old pricing – yup he was a steal at $8500 – so weird to see him that cheap !

Doesn’t this course take the driver out of his hand due to the length of the course/holes? I thought last year or 2019 people on here were discussing this specifically along with the belief he’s only here due to sponsorship obligations.

T-17, T-28, T-16 the last 3 would keep me away from him for $11,600.

I went to last year’s spreadsheet and added the results for everyone from 8,000 to the top salary (21 players). As good a guess as I can come up with: 4 MCs, 9 top 20s. What a difference a year makes, eh? Kooch was 8,300, now 8,000. DJ was 8,500, now 11,600.

Last year was a bit different than many years past. It was played at a different time of year, It was the second event after the covid restart, It was not played the week after the masters as in previous years.
Look at 2019 the same way and I think you will get some of what concerns me and has me on the fence.

Having an initial player pool of 49 golfers is less than ideal 😅. Really interested in ownership as there are many big names in the field, a bunch of euro guys, so many older players in great form and young high potential guys as well. Gonna be tough to cut down my player pool, though ownership should be pretty balanced.

Just a reminder that 10 of the fairways were expanded in 2020.

Seeing DJ @ $8500 last year and only 12% owned, seems like at $11,600 he’ll be 2% owned

    Hmmm..

    EDIT: Early projections show 7-8%

Which fence are we talking about? I’m happy to play Webb in core 1, and have Berger leading off core 2. There are too many scrubs I like to go mid-market, although I always have a couple or three out of my 20 for that porpoise.

I found an old First Look article and he was $8500 which is baffling as I didn’t think he was ever under $9500 but he was

Wish I’d done that last week…only had him in 4 or 5. But that was too, too many.

His results here aren’t good. The only reason I won’t completely fade D.J. is the ownership angle.

I think Almost everyone is playable. Cant really knock on many compared to the strength of field. But you saw 2019….12 under 7K salaries in the top 16.

I dont know what but I think it behooves us to relook at who were gonna pick. Webb is in the spotlight, Great course History, some semi duds too. I see a lot of MC’s the year after a win.

Honestly I am gonna look for cores that dont include the obvious plays. Dont say I didnt warn you about the stud MC’s.

Morikawa great Nicklaus player…horrible on Pete Dye courses. Otherwise he checks out well.

Abe Ancer gained 17 greens last year. That’s wild, I would expect some level of regression.

Streelman, Grillo, Hoffman, Si Woo Kim, Cam Davis all in the 7k range and grading out in the top 20 of my model run.

Last year was star studded and a milly maker due to the restart instead of traditionally following the Masters. This year is a different feel. I wouldn’t get to caught up with CH as a result.

  • BrianVT

So, everyone that is throwing out 2020 because of time of year and COVID is ignoring Webb’s stellar performance here?

  • monarch

Ancer has double the ownership of Sergio at 300 more.

Last time we had a Pete Dye course I believe Sergio had a birdie putt on like 58 of the holes or something crazy like that at the Players. He finished fifth here last year, he was in good form at the match play he missed the Masters cut on the number after a horrible Thursday. Pretty decent leverage play.

Refusing to take free squares has proven to be quite the unprofitable strategy for me lol. Spieth at Augusta, Rahm at Torrey Pines, Hoffman at TPC San Antonio, JT at Kapalua/9Bridges and of course Simpson at Harbour Town – maybe just don’t overthink it 🤷‍♂️

well on 1 hand we are told that 10 fairways were widened.
The weather was good. no to little wind, some light rain a quick Tstorm, overall effect, softer greens.
    Winner result -22

On the other hand typical winning score is abt -12. Wind and small sloping greens are the main defense.

I dont see any weather issues at this time,

I think it makes a big difference in golfers I pick, expecting winning score -20’s or -12
    Which do you favor?

I am not worrying about those types of things but DJ’s 2 Masters outcomes are in stark contrast to each other.
