Anyone know their screen names? I’d like to hunt them down and go H2H against them. I’m particularly interested in seeing how Cynthia’s 94% win rate stacks up against my picks. I’m going to guess she’s not cashing in 94% of her GPP entries, and is instead preying on the weak in H2Hs

FWIW I saw the 94% win graphic on Sportscenter this week , doesn’t really bother me but i don’t think it was an isolated mistake on ESPN’s part

They’re really shooting themselves in the foot if they are still using that.

Let’s not overdramatize this. While I believe the claims are misleading, the more they show this, the more that will sign up with unrealistic expectations.

90% that signed up had unrealistic expectations. Nothing wrong with that.

id say 90% of the people on these forums also have unrealistic expectations.

If you had an algorithm that won at a 94% clip, would you be going on ESPN to give up your secrets? Would you be wasting your time going on ESPN when you had what almost amounts to ATM machines so long as you plug in your picks every night?

Welcome to Daily Fantasy Football Today

TMR: Peter, you are a top ranked DFS player, who do you suggest viewers consider at Quarterback today on DraftKings?

CSU: You know Matthew, I really think Cam Newton is in a great spot and he has a great price.

    Smizzle: Bootcamp!

    Cynthia: I like Tom Brady.

TMR: Unfortunately, he is suspended this week.

Cynthia: I know the CEO of Twitter.

TMR: What does that have to do with anything?

    Smizzle: Bootcamp!

Cynthia: Peter, who is your #FieldGoalofTheDay?

CSU: They don’t have kickers on Draft Kings.

Cynthia: I don’t play high stakes though.

    Smizzle: Bootcamp!

TMR: After the break we go live to a baby getting a Justin Bieber tattoo on his face because his asshole Dad got last place in his fantasy football league.

Smizzle: Is there going to be dessert after this?

You would never ever see sports bettors or poker players inflate their win percentage.

    Never ever.

  • Mmps_Mmps

I rarely post on here. I do read the forum posts from time to time, however. If I had to guess, in the long run this’ll have little, to no effect on the DFS community. Clearly, those win rate percentages are skewed, and while I’m by no means a DFS expert I do know that the NFL season is coming up. That might be one reason for the lofty proclamations… From what I gather this NFL season will have more cash behind it than ever before. ESPN may be a soul-less corporation, but they are simultaneously a money making machine. If their claims adjust the DFS market in a negative way, you better believe self correction will follow.

The way I see it, this could mean the upcoming NFL season is going to be a cash heap for anyone who knows what they’re doing (this probably excludes me as I am a chargers fan and will play P. Rivs w/ M.Gordon way too much, look for my cash games if you’re interested in free money) . This is a topic of interest to me, clearly, I’d like to hear more opinions on this if anyone else has any.

Anyway dp47 murder’t it. Good day.

the fascination with this chick must stop.

its clear that espn understands that most of the DFS user base arent exactly ladies men.

they put a decent looking blonde in the slot to talk baseball to spike ratings.

im willing to bet since here edition to the show the ratings have gone up. i mean how many threads have been posted on RG asking about her? my lord

at the end of the day who cares. shes knows enough to talk about baseball during her segment and not sound like a moron.

    can we move on please?

No one here has a problem with the fact that she is a woman or “decent looking”.

Some people have a problem with ESPN putting someone with little to no DFS experience in a position to be giving actual DFS advice to viewers, as opposed to her hosting a show or “covering” DFS.

Almost everyone here has a problem with ESPN repeatedly using a fabricated “win rate” to help raise their viewer’s confidence in the advice she is giving. When given a chance to correct the mistake, Cynthia’s response was that she doesn’t play high stakes.

  • nok101010

I do think she’s smart but don’t think she’s had any previous training to justify being on air. sometimes its painful to watch. its also hilarious to see Tristan in his little office making videos giving knowledgable advice while she sits in a makeup chair for hours to be on air for 30 seconds. Seems like an opportunist to me, will be interested to see where she goes from here.

  • fightingjohn

I think she gives fair and good advice.

  • Mmps_Mmps

But Guise, isn’t accepting mediocre advice just a part of the DFS learning curve? It doesn’t take long to realize there are a lot of really, really smart people playing DFS. I’d assume most reasonable/profitable players would move away from content like that regardless of how new the player is.

  • Mmps_Mmps

To clarify, one would have to move away from the bad advice to be able to compete with all those “smart players”. I wasn’t trying to say most DFS players are smart. I have no data to substantiate that claim ;)
