Makes sense we have a 3-way playoff on a weekend where there was 2 NFL OT games and two others that came down to the last possession.

    C’mon JT

    Fatrick with the twirl

Bye bye Xander – he’s gotta hate this green

    Xander chokes big time

    Fatrick Reed saves my weekend

  • deeze3329

    Dammit Xander!!

  • Dewoc19

Reed FTW, played so much Reed this week, to bad I backed DJ instead of Xabder so hard, could have been a good week for me, oh well

  • superstars92

I didn’t play or watch this, but looking at ST now. Did JT do that on 18 before or after Xander and Reed played? Because he could have just played more conservative right? Unless he went before Xander and Reed.

  • BIF

C’mon JT finish off the cheater !!

  • deeze3329

This is crazy, I had all three in three in play-off and went backwards after the first play-off hole.

You mean in your standings? Yea that makes sense, you lose 10 FPs from Xander while some others lose none.

Since finishing points are included as the tourney goes along; all 3 would have been T1 and getting 30 points before the playoff but only one winner will keep the 30 and the other two losers drop by 10 points and only receive 20

  • deeze3329

Yeah in my standings. Now it make sense. So essentially I am screwed by having them all unless they play a bunch of extra holes making birdies.

You aren’t screwed, I guess you should have just known that you were going to lose 20 points anyways (like it was a “fake” extra 20 points).

I would root on the lower of the two owned. Was Xander the lowest of the 3? That sucks if he was the lowest, but root on the lower of Reed and JT.

You might actually move up now actually, depending on what others around you have (maybe everyone around you has JT and Reed will win for example).

This will literally happen minute-to-minute for 4 days, every time. Learn to deaden your soul, otherwise seeing the numbers will hurt when they go away.

“Learn to deaden your soul.” That’s priceless.

It’s 100% impossible to move up when you are losing points as nobody is losing more – the best you can hope for is to stay where you are if everyone in behind you within 10 points also has the same two finalists.

Your theory only works if you only own one of the guys or both separately on diff lineups then you hope for the lesser owned to win.

  • deeze3329

Xander was the lowest, and JT and Reed are very close but JT is about 1% less.

Not impossible, it depends on what others around him have. For example, if he’s like 10th and like 1-9 have some with both JT/Reed and some with only JT and like 11-19 have mostly all with JT.

If Reed wins, he could theoretically move up. It’s possible, but probably not going to happen, in a small field. If this was a super large field with cuts and people were more distributed (like a lot more than 10 points separated positions), then it’s more possible.

I disagree – you better try that again

If you lose the maximum number of points that anyone can lose…..you can’t move up

If he owns both guys on the playoff, you can ONLY go down or optimally stay where you are if everyone has both guys

For the record, the $1 weekend single entry I entered to get the achievement points, I finished 1st and it allowed me to escape with a modest profit 😄

Not screwed but your winnings can only drop when you have multiple guys in a playoff – it’s no fun either when you only have one in a playoff

On the positive side, you gained a lot more points during the tourney by hitting the nuts with all 3 guys in the playoff and that is way better than one of those and two guys in 10th place. It just sucks that the points come off at the end so it looks like you are losing some of your winnings when in reality, you never had them as 3 guys can’t finish 1st

  • JdotBrone

You could root for a tsunami to strike making the golf course unplayable which would force a tie. Probably the only scenario you don’t lose ground.

I only entered 3 Weekend satellites for NFL tickets and forgot to enter it in a GPP – well I had 226pts and finished 1st, 1st and 2nd So I won all 3 tickets but would have finished Top 5 in the $10 for $500 🙄 that one was full already so I didn’t bother throwing it in any smaller contests.
