A few days ago, I mentioned in the big Yahoo thread that I was trying to work out a big deposit bonus when I started playing on Yahoo a few months back, as DraftPot very graciously did so. A Yahoo rep tells me to message him and that we’ll work something out.

I message him. He replies and offers me the identical bonus that was already offered in the thread we connected in.

Is that seriously why the rep asked me to message him? To not work something out, but to just tell me there’s an offer out there that I clearly already knew about?

I’ve been playing on Yahoo every week, but after this experience, I think I’m going to withdraw all my funds from Yahoo and never play there again. It’s one thing to just tell me there’s nothing they can do at this point; it’s another to pretend that we’ll work things out in a public forum to make Yahoo look good, and then offer me nothing in private message.

    Shame on Yahoo!

Just curious why you feel entitled to your own special offer? Forget about what they told you for a second. Why do you deserve special treatment?

I bet you are one of those people who want all the contest made easier just for you also. This is one of the most pathetic things ever posted on RG.

Did not expect a special offer or anything. I just don’t like being told that we’ll work something out when there is no intention of doing so. That’s my issue. Put simply, don’t waste my time.

And yes, I get that this post was a major waste of my time and childish. I just dislike the fact that Yahoo would try to leave an impression in public that is BS.

I don’t feel entitled to a special offer. But I do feel entitled to not be lied to by a rep in a public forum.

But you were looking for an offer different from what they were offering everyone else?

Hey Moshe—apologies for the miscommunication. I’m following up with you directly. I assure you there was no lying, and appreciate the open discussion.

    Happy NBA everyone!

Lied to? Dude, the rep responded to you within 2 hours….on Christmas Day! Relax dude, drink some eggnog, pet your dog. I’m sure they’ll take care of you tomorrow.

You seem like a big whiner in this post, OP. If there is a real issue here, you aren’t wording it properly. You’re just coming off as a bratty milennial who feels entitled to something special.

It gets better. Thread in question…

  • rsigler65

    Unbelievably lame, OP. Unbelievable.

  • jmac1204

Mods please change the title of this thread…this is so off-base, it’s ridiculous. It makes Yahoo look bad for absolutely no reason. Don’t let people do this.

Worked things out with Yahoo last night, but thanks for everyone who decided to insult me in this thread because of their inability to comprehend the situation.

So what “special” deal did you get fom them? Did they just give you a free $2k to play with because you asked?

  • rsigler65

I read the original thread when it went down. You asked if you could increase your initial deposit becuase you regreted not taking advantage of a larger promo amount. When the rep obliged the request that you posted, you responded by publicly shaming the company. Bizarre. The only legitimate reason I can think of for this OP is that YOU in fact did not comprehend the situation. But I haven’t seen you post anything saying ‘sorry, I misunderstood’.

I get what the OP is saying….yahoo didn’t have any promotions when they first went live, so he prob put in like 5 bucks initially just to try it out. And now 5 months later, NOW they run a promotion where they match u up to 2k but he is outta luck, had he known a big promotion would be coming months down the road, he would have waited to make his initial deposit. So he sort of just wanted a mulligan and pretend that his first deposit of 5 bucks never happened, and he wanted to make a 2k deposit now instead, so he just wanted yahoo to consider him a first time depositor.

I see no reason to make fun of him….I’m sure that no one here made a deposit bigger than a few bucks when yahoo first started, and then magically 5 months later, yahoo now runs a promo for first time depositors.

For the record, I haven’t even deposited there nor will I, so none of this affects me at all

If you read the thread that Putz so helpfully posted, the OP regretted not taking advantage of the original (up to $2000) deposit bonus and was asking if there was any way he could now do so. The very next post, the Yahoo Rep says

“Hi. DM me with your yahoo ID and I can hook you up.”

I don’t know how you guys read that statement, but it sure sounds to me like a big “Yes”. I’m glad OP was able to work things out with Yahoo, its amazing how fast the pitchforks come out around here these days.

  • rsigler65

OK then…I guess the lack of comprehension continues.

The real issue came across quite clearly.

Why was the millennial comment necessary, and if you’re going to insult an arbitrarily defined generation based on lame stereotypes maybe you could try spelling it correctly?

Will do, fella. Thanks for being their spokesperson.

You missed the bigger point, and don’t seem like someone worth explaining it to.

    As you were.
