    SportsGeek NBA Roster Setup

What do you guys think of their roster set up so far? I think I’m a big fan. The one area I’m debating is does 3 flex spots give you TOO much flexibility? It might be a good thing for a large-field game, but in a 1-1-1-2-2 scoring format where Pts and Rebs are the most important category, I could see a lot of ‘Forward-Overload’ happening, and reducing the importance of Guards. What do you think is best?

    A) G-G-F-F-C-FX-FX-FX

    B) G-G-G-F-F-F-C-FX

    C) Other

I think you might be right that the 3 flex spots do give a bit too much flexibility. We are looking into breaking it down into specific positions: PG, SG, SF, PF, C, and then G (which could be PG or SG), F (SF or PF), and C.

What do you think of specific postions like this? We also need to get it worked out with our stats provider to make sure they can offer the specific positions.

I think the current set up is great. I don’t go over everything with a fine tooth comb, but it appears the salaries have been adjusted some and it is more difficult than say it was earlier in the week. Just from the vibe I get around here I think a lot of players would have been down on how it was set up last weekend and earlier in the week. You were able to stock your lineup across the board pretty easily. Now that it has been tightened up I think it is a good balance and I enjoy the freedom of being able to use any position at flex.

I’m questioning if you should include Player % selected in 10 man leagues. I think no. That’s giving out a lot of information.

Even in large fields I wonder if people are in favor of sharing this info or not. I can see it both ways.

As long as it’s priced correctly I don’t see any problems. Typically the forwards have been priced higher than guards (Lebron/Durant around 220 and Wade around 180) which makes it all balance out in the end.

i will have to try it out before i comment on the flex spots but I have always been opposed to the Player % selected feature.

PG PG, SG, SG, SF, SF, PF, PF, C is the best.

I agree that the Player % feature must go. It will be gone as soon as our web development gets all the bugs worked out. Fortunately, it includes all teams that are entered into any challenge so at least all the freeroll teams dilute it out so it isn’t so easy to tell who’s on the teams you’re playing against.

Any reason why you can’t edit your team after the contest has filled with 10 players? That’s pretty weak. In football at least you can just leave the contest. Also why are you allowing multiple entries in a 10 player contest. Fix these problems and I’ll be an everyday player.
