What about pitching….. how can anyone know who’s coming in after 2 innings.

I would think the best place for pitchers coming in later would be to follow best writers of the teams on Twitter.

What aren’t you able to update MLB Spring LineUp HQ with the starting lineups? Rotowire posts the stating lineups hours before first pitch. Having to manually enter lineups is a major inconvenience. Come on now. It so easy on your end and would take an RG employee less than 30 minutes to help us paying members.

Twitter gives a lot of info…following beat writers….It’s so hard to nail any pitcher that isn’t starting that it usually isn’t worth it to try that.

The key in MLB preseason is to use pitchers making their second start vs those making their first (they’ll pitch longer into the game) and later using those making their 3rd vs ones making their 2nd. Also, hitters at the top of the order have a much better chance of getting 3 at bats before being taken out, vs those at the bottom of the order.

    This guy spring trainings!

Also when in doubt DH’s are quite useful as you may actually squeak out an extra AB.

But in general my rule of thumb is to expect someone to increase their pitching workload 1 or 2 IP each start. If they threw 2 in the first, then 3-4 in the second is the projection. No one is coming in cold in early March and hucking 4 innings with no ramp.

After that, since everyone is the same price the lineup placement is actually more important than in the regular season where it is already terribly important to begin with.

Also name value. You best believe people are playing Mike Trout and Mookie today for example.
