the best part of it is they are a canadian company

  • ldavidjm

They also changed the bankroll builder initial promotion so you win $1 tickets instead of $5.

Still waiting on August’s loyalty freerolls too….

Yup. And changed the initial first deposit from a 100% match up to $1,000 to $250. The site took a huge step back. Ridiculous.

I just want to wake up and have that email be nothing but a bad dream.

  • huitcinq

I checked their FAQ and it says they’re doing the same thing to Michigan players that they’re doing to Canada.

January 1, the overlay on NHL

  • huitcinq

Just confirmed that Michigan players got the same email…

  • jmo26

Very surprised by this… good luck with NHL.

I was going to put a substantial amount of money over there once NBA season started, but it appears that won’t be happening. Even if they do end up allowing Canadians at some point, it sounds like they may start removing a lot of the incentives that were going to bring me over there in the first place anyways.

    Screw ‘em.

lol 10 man gpps dominated by clivebixby, anon h2hs only matched to clivebixby, Good Luck @Astukas gonna rake he was about 1/4 there volume last season as it was with canadians, Guy knows his puck.

  • huitcinq

I recommend everyone playing PGA just save their bankroll until January 1st… those GPPs are gonna get a lot easier once I’m gone ;)

  • noddy

Well I can still play on there, but I’m not going to. Screw them.

  • wavegoodbye

was initially pissed, but looks like the very definition of a major company coming in and ruining what was there…

doubt they’ll be overlay there much longer

It’s really hard to believe how excited I was for Yahoo and Stars to enter the market just a few weeks ago. Yahoo’s offering has been quite lackluster and stars buys my favorite site, instantly raises rake, then starts kicking players to the curb.

Also with apologies to my Canadian friends, this MI thing is not a good sign, imo. I fear this is just the first shoe to drop, in MI, and then who knows where.

It’s understandable that players want the best possible rewards, but removing the bonuses should not be thought of as ridiculous. There’s a reason so many DFS sites go out of business. Victiv ran huge bonuses to help get them on the radar, but it was not necessarily a long term viable strategy.

They got scooped up by a company that can very well grow liquidity and have a profitable long term business. More real competition in the industry is good for players and can lead to lower rake across the board long term.

I saw Starsdraft is not allowing Canadians in an email. Same is the case with Yahoo. Is there any concern about the future of DFS in Canada on the main 2 sites?

What is the reason for the MI restriction? Are the other sites going to follow suit? Has something changed in MI?

The gaming control board deemed DFS illegal in MI yesterday. Took a whole day for the first ban.

This is unbelievable. How the hell does something like this happen at the drop of a hat.

  • huitcinq

They are getting a piece of the pie though. The sites issue tax forms.

The real issue with poker was the casino lobby being against online gambling and having no opposition. This time they’d be going up against big boys like Comcast and Newscorp.

Where did you see this? Can’t find this info on Starsdraft or Yahoo.

  • huitcinq

He’s talking about DK and FD. DK removed Quebec from their list of banned territories early this year.
