Just curious as to when DK-FD will begin in the state——became legal July 1st.

  • bdub02

I’ve been wondering this as well

  • cdub6238

I was told by a DK rep that they still have to work out the details with the govt to make things as smooth as possible, and that anywhere from late 2019 to spring 2020 is the estimate

  • AdamLoebSmall

We are expecting early 2020 as of now, but keep in mind that they had to build a regulatory authority from scratch. There are no casinos of any kind in Tennessee. So they’re really moving at breakneck pace already. Don’t be surprised if the start date gets pushed out further

  • jsw3ent

Thanks for the reply guys——but what a drag having to wait that long.

No comment at this time, except to say that AdamLoebSmall is a very wise person (and an old friend of our team’s Director – he says Hi Adam!).

Comments on the proposed regulations are due next week. There is a hearing on them sometime in January – then have to finalize regs and reward licenses. It’s still going to be a while but I’ll take the under on Memorial Day.

If I was in TN I wouldn’t want it yet, they are way off on what they are proposing. They want a push in a parlay to equal a loss and they want the sports books to hold 15% so the juice on each bet would be way off market value. So as it stands now the players are going to get screwed.

    ^^^ truth

    That would be robbery

  • jsw3ent

It looks like by march madness——did they fix the 15% juice—-and the ties lose parlay? If they didn’t, who in their right mind would play the Tennessee sites. Why would anyone screw themselves by playing the Tennessee sites . It seems to me people will continue playing offshore —local bookie’s or drive to Tunica and Arkansas when they open.

I would rather pay 5% more juice than be in either of those places lol

I am not from either place—so your attempt to rile me failed LOL——but why give away $money$ to Tennessee sites—-because if it stands the way it is—-that’s exactly what people will do by playing on tennessee sites. Leave it to Tennessee to screw it up.

We ask for your patience as we await regulatory guidance. Until then, the timeline is unclear.

    Facts

  • dgriff

I’m definitely ready for it to open. A friend who works at Southland Casino in West Memphis told me they opened their sportsbook today finally. For those in the Memphis area for now that is a closer option than driving down to Tunica.

  • jsw3ent

Now Tennessee is talking June LOL——But if they keep the 15% and the parlay tie loses —then who in their right mind will play anyway. 5 dimes /Bovada/local bookies and all area casinos is where people will play. This state just cant get out of its own way. Plus the 750K that DK and FD have to pay YEARLY is freckin robbery——in a way I wish they would tell Tenn where to stick it—-maybe then Tenn would actually see how dumb their model is.

  • jay45bee

why don’t they just copy the new jersey rules they have been super successful

  • moonshiner

  • jsw3ent

I wish a FD/DK rep. would comment here on the 750K yearly fee—the 15%—and parlay thing. I am sure they have commented to the state . Apparently some sites have told Tenn what they can do with that fee

  • jsw3ent

Now they are hoping kickoff will be by KICKOFF. Another delay—-73 so far I think LOL. The good news is— this delay is to fix the asinine rules—-like the 15%—the parlay loss/tie thing. Now if they fix the live college betting then all is well—however I have my doubts on that one. But I think this delay is a positive .

  • jsw3ent

They passed the laws—-leave it to Tennessee to screw it up——people that play on the Tennessee sites under the 10% thing just dont like $$$$——most people in west Tenn will continue to play in Mississippi/Arkansas or the guy on the corner local bookie

  • jsw3ent

Since Rotogrinders is in Tennessee——I would like them to comment on the 10% cap crap——also maybe Fanduel/Draftkings please comment. If Draftkings/Fanduel boycotted the stupid rule—-would the state change it before the so-called year trial ?

  • jsw3ent

    What say you Rotogrinders/Draftkings/Fanduel

  • moonshiner

Just copy Jersey and get it going it’s been a year !
