Daily fantasy Tennis is just like Nascar contests. You never know when a player is going to crash out and wreck your whole line up. But you know its going to happen….

  • strassnerte

I see her eventually getting the 3 set victory, but definitely not optimal. With all of these double faults, it may end up being the lowest score dfs wise for a winner.

Anyone know what is the lowest dfs score a winner has had?

Here we go, just win this one and keep going

  • MHDU2424

She not only needs to win the 2nd set obviously but she needs to run thru the 3rd to give us a shot at a big GPP score

I have 1/4 without her so hoping for the best

And yes becuase it womans tennis as well…

Was thinking about that last weekend, remembering Stephen Jay Gould’s article on why there would never be another .400 hitter (the player pool is so much bigger than it used to be, which reduces the standard deviation).

Tennis is the only sport where the compensation structure for women now justifies the kind of all-in devotion from an early age that we see in many mens’ sports. If you’re female, this is the only sports lottery in town. The player pool is worldwide and freaking enormous. We used to have players (Evert, Navratilova, Graf) who never ever lost to anyone but each other, but they were born before the open era. In 1970 nobody ever would have imagined a female tennis player bringing in eight-digits of career earnings, but that list is now more than 40 deep and it includes some players you probably don’t think of as great (Makarova, Vesnina, Lisa Raymond).

I guess you can make that kind of money in MMA now, though I don’t imagine there’s a lot of overlap between girls that would train for tennis and girls that would train for MMA. And Danica Patrick who’s an complete outlier. Otherwise, forget it.

Goddamnit I was high on Konta as well. Now it doesn’t really matter what Kontaveit does, this slate is a bust.

Holy shit that’s a slate breaker right there, 52% owned in the DK drop shot

  • Ndepompei

Good news I guess is that 2/3 of my H2H also have Konta and every double up she’s more than 50% owned

I pulled off Konta in all the last-minute juggling to fit Kontaveit in. Maybe today won’t be a total bust after all?

My idea this week was to run pretty balanced lineups because it’s the best players who are mostly likely to not care about this week’s possible earnings. I was surprised people so many top players had entered this tournament in the first place; I don’t think that’s happened in the past.

If it’s a walkover she gets zero; if she plays an LL she gets what she gets.

Depending on overlap potentially 80% of the field has a 0.

Probably less though guessing a lot of bertens konta overlap.

  • Cal_Naughton_Jr

Was 50/50 on Konta or Edmund for my cash lineup guess I made the wrong choice ugh

That’s somewhat of a consolation. Still probably a -100% ROI for me but I suppose it’s possible I could cash one or two. And I do have one lineup without Konta so I guess that’s the one I’m rooting for.

  • Ndepompei

Anybody have a number for Suarez Navarro ownership?

Are you freaking serious about Konta. GTFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A little over 5% in the Ace; Konta is 48% there.

I’d guess 3/4 of the lineups are already sitting on zeroes.

  • thetitanlb

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Konta is the devil. Alright that is my tilt for the day.

  • dnely17

I have Kontaveit in and no Konta or Suarez Navarro in the $8 gpp. My one upset I picked is Mayer. If he can pull something off I could have a shot.

  • sports667

Only have 1 of 6 Konta, shewww.
