Finally another major to sink into. Bloody TON of ,matches the first day. Remains to be seen how many DK actually use. They have opened most of the contests today, but still no prices. There is no sched of play yet, I am not sure why? They might have some qualifiers to run for drops outs or something of the like. So we have to wait for the field to be finalised until we get prices and a schedule. But here is an early look at the odds. DIG IN!

    WTA

    ATP

I think the first thing we notice is the on the men’s side the overwhelming favourites compared to the woman’s side, no lady is over 9.5 for an upset. Simply means, no surprise to those that have bet tennis before, that the ladies are much harder to predict. But that is where we will find those 90+ scores we need to take down a GPP. The first 2 rounds you will need close or even over 500 fps to win… Look to target the gals in the 1.25- 1.35 range. They will be priced around $8.5k-$9.5k on DKs. You generally wont need any 10k+ players the first couple rounds.

RG projected was 50% for Bondarenko and next highest 22% Nakashima

    actual:

    Bondarenko 52.8
    Nakashima 20.7

    pretty close

here’s the big DK contest, which filled about 20 minutes before lock:

Prize picks set their over unders very low. I just went in to get some more and saw all of the players I picked over on went up about 5-8 points in their new numbers. Makes me feel pretty great getting the numbers early.

there were two shared surnames I noticed

The Pliskova twins, one a heavy favorite and one an underdog (like with the Bondarenko sisters, before one retired)

    Sousa. Pedro and Joao

over at FD, projected chalk was

    Nakashima 24
    Hurkacz 21

FD won’t display ownership yet, so I can’t compare to actual

I forgot to check the lobby for FD overlay after submitting my super smash entries. I do see the super smash had a few hundred in overlay (prize pool of 50k, 49,487.13 worth of entry fees)

Only have Kerber from this first set of matches on FD, started off a bit rocky but is looking much better now.

I’m excited for Tennis to be back.

I have no clue what I’m doing, and I LOVE it

  • Krispac23

    ^^^ Ditto for me lol!!!!!!

  • Roma315

Wtf Jung was 6-2/6-4/4-6/1-6 then undisclosed which killed his score on FD. Was over 100 ended with 15.4

  • mistermoneybags

How in bloody hell is Schwartzman now suddenly in a death match with Norrie?

And he was up 4-0 in the 3rd set. Then lost 14 of the next 15 games and just gave up.

Probably one of those conditioning issues we will see plenty of over the next coming days. He’s only played 2 matches since the restart, whereas Norrie has played lots of matches through the Summer.

    Jung was cramping like hell…

FD sportsbook is running a contest where you climb up the leaderboard by picking underdogs.

So the more underdogs that hit, the better the bettors do.

I have Brengle against Tsurenko but looks looks like that match was cancelled and now Brengle is playing Rodionova. Will I get any points from Brengle against her new opponent?

RG way off on those 2

    Hurkacz was 42.1%
    Nakashima 36.6%

Coco is so maddening to watch. She has so much skill and speed but so many errors.

  • yisman

Uchiyama forced a fifth set as a sizable underdog. I was hoping he’d pull the upset.

  • yisman

    DK results:

bubbled everything. Disgusting. 5 wins, 1 loss. 373.35. Didn’t cash any of the three contests I entered.

    FD results:

    currently cashing 3/7 entries

biggest cash for only $30 bucks

    so a bad first day

  • pastabolicles

I was on fire (4-0 with two $5K-$6K upsets – 59th place in the $15 Maj Ret) and she (Coco) and Anderson sunk me. It’s maddening playing DFS for a sport you know next to nothing about.. I had no idea who this Bondarenko was at 50%+ ownership. Makes you feel like such a fish.

Another annoying issue I wonder if anyone else has had… I won two $15 tickets to the Major Return, which is why I’m playing.. I cashed one yesterday since the expiration date is listed as 9/8, and today the other ticket is gone. Why would they expire at the start of the major if the expiration is listed at the end of the major? They’re one day contests. Hopefully this is just an error. I’d hate to think it’d be that misleading that you had to use it on the first day, even though the exp. clearly listed by the end of the major.

I finally pulled a 6-0 day but still min cashed everything lol (thanks a lot Carreno-Busta). Yesterday seemed a lot easier to pluck the underdog plays, a lot harder today. I am liking Sandgren on the men’s side and Scott on the women’s side for potential upset picks. I think Kenin might be my favorite high priced option on the board.

You can always just check a Sportsbook for the odds on each match and see if they correlate with the player’s price. Yesterday Bondarenko was like -500 and she was only 6600. I’m assuming that’s what a lot of people do to find those plays.

Yeah that is always the best way to start your research/lineup construction, check odds, occasionally you will get disparity with the odds and DK or FD pricing. Plug that player in and your research gets a tad easier from there.

Anyone else on FD that still wasn’t paid for yesterdays contest?
