I’m definitely cutting down my LU’s and cutting out the touts/experts; all about CH and RF

    Went 3 $8 vs. 8 $3 before and this week going 3 $5 vs. 5 $3

Got 11 players in my three LU’s

playing more SD this year; fading LaQ for more NT this week

I’m playing the Phil/Tony pairing in everything except the round 3 showdown (when they are on the Stadium course). Other than that, I like the fade LQ for NT approach.

  • titanhawks

relation to par is miniscule for both courses

    -2.58 LaQ vs. -2.54 NT

The herd takes the chalk LaQ for the zig and we take NT for the zag and the win :)

The first few events I single-entried EURO and multi-entered PGA – this week I might reverse that because I really dislike this PGA event for DFG purposes but there’s loads of possibilities on the EURO side. Issue is whether there are any MME contests worth the time.

  • titanhawks

It wasn’t last week but I cashed two of three LU’s both 3/6’s for $14 on $9 Birdie entries

This week the same with three Birdie entries and 15 golfers

Winner: Oosty makes up for last week

Fade: everyone else over $9,800 but do have one Broosky just in case

    Sleeper: Laporta

Is JJ Spaun hurt or does he just suck?

    Yes

He’s had his moments but probably better bets @ his salary whatever that is

not on my radar at all but have played him in the past a time or two

I’m thinking I like the mafia approach – Bozelli and Malnati

I’m definitely in on Bozelli. I’ll pass on Malnati.

  • titanhawks

Malnati one of my two sleepers

Are you ready to rumble??? lol

  • Kingspark35

Fred and Wilma prefer this week’s EURO event.

    Californians don’t care about golf.

But the people in Abu Dhabi do !!!

Anyone looking at Cauley? He has some decent course history

My Man Bud Cauley is always on my radar, he is going to win one this year!

  • titanhawks

Really a great course to watch on TV if you can and this field is about the best it will get outside of the Open for EURO

DK really should have made it a feature event

Hey BIF, been a while. As fellow Gil Hanse fan I was pumped to hear that he’s just signed on at the Olympic Club to work on a master plan for course updates in advance of the PGA championship and Ryder Cup

    👍 didn’t know that – that’s good news

True. I’m a little different than most, and I don’t really consider course design or playability at all if I don’t enjoy the look and feel of the place. I forget that other people have different viewpoints and priorities. Should have just said I’m not a fan of TF for televised golf / DFS purposes and left it at that.

Nah, I think your comments were fair as a lot of people don’t like courses unless they have a ocean, parkland or forest setting – it’s funny as a viewer to see a course called Trinity Forest not even have one tree on it. I know why, but it still seems funny to see that.

  • lfn1992

Another good reason to take Phil is that you know he’s going to shoot like a 75-67 in there and if he can just string together one other solid round he’s playing on Sunday… he’s volatile but that third round opportunity to make the cut really helps.

Do we know the rotation of courses? I didn’t see any mention of it

    EDIT: I found it

    LQ – NT – Stadium
    Stadium – LQ – NT
    NT – Stadium – LQ

Tee times should be posted for all 3 days so just check one or two guys on each day and you’ll figure it out. I haven’t done my research yet so I’m too lazy at the moment to figure it out myself

20 players in my pool, only 2 of them play on the Stadium Course on Thursday.. my lineups are gonna peak day 1, I know it.

The season needs to get going. Things are dead around here

  • noddy

I think I’m ok that I get 3 rounds from all my golfers this week.

  • squidkill

This forum is dead. Day before tourney and nothing. Need some tips fellas.

I find myself mostly in the 9k area to start. Guys like Kok kis Scheff. Also would Harman be considered more gpp or cash.?

sorry squid, unfortunately this tends to be the slowest time of year for golf as most people are still focused on other sports or just busy getting back to work after the holidays. I’ll be building my lineups later this afternoon / evening and should have my blog post up tonight, although it’ll mostly be reviewing last week’s results and a bit about this week but with 3 different courses it’s hard to narrow down to a particular type of golfer.

As for lineup builds, I agree that the 9k range is very solid this week and will be a core of a lot of my lineups. I think overall I would say Harman is probably a cash play at this event since he very rarely has a blow up round but he also isn’t really a guy that is gonna shoot a 62, so with 3 guaranteed rounds you know he’s gonna do some solid scoring, but with everyone else racking up piles of birdies he’s gonna have to really be on his game to be in contention on sunday. In general I think he has a bigger advantage over the field (and becomes a better gpp play) in events with tougher scoring conditions, but he’s a solid cash play in most events except the really long courses.
