Admin Note: The mod team is working to keep these daily threads more on topic – Golf strategy talk for this week’s contest. Post referring to last week’s contest will be moved to the correct thread. Any off topic posts or posts containing full lineups will be deleted..
We got salaries!!!!
I can already tell that DJ and Morikawa will be very popular
In the Beat the Forum section I decided to keep the tournaments and the people who volunteered for those tournaments in place and asked for anyone’s input.
The only 3 left are the final 3 events of the season.
These contests are terrible
Golf is back!
Any theories as to which players, or which kind of player (for example, Strickers vs. bombers?), will be hurt the least by the layoff?
I might like Dahmen a bit just because at least I know he was playing some (and was in good form before the break).
They will add more but the $9 is a good structure – it is like the NFL $9 Slant contest with 10% to 1st and a 2X or $18 min cash.
Picking guys feels like total luck, but we finally have a sport back!
Mitch, my apologies. I didn’t check the Beat the Forum thread, just went by what someone else was saying. This tournament is all yours. I’ll find one at the end of the year. Good luck!
Good June to y’all & YAY GOLF!
Looking forward to building line ups again.
Does anyone know of a website that has live scoring? This website has the top 50 but I’m looking for one that has every golfer. Or live stats that has the amount of birdies, bogies, etc.
https://www.linestarapp.com/LiveScoring/Sport/PGA/Site/DraftKings
My reasoning is I run a fantasy golf league with friends, and would like a way to extract data from a site in live time that automatically updates the scoring on our google docs doc..rather than me manually entering players scores after every round.
If there is any google sheet experts out there with =IMPORTHTML knowledge please let me know! Thanks.
As for this slate fire me up some Webb, English, and a sprinkle of Sungjae.
I normally like playing the young guys, but Mike from smartgolfbets has maturity and course experience as key metrics. Not sure why though as many guys have done well on their first try according to his sheet (Rahm, Koepka, Spieth, English, Hadwin and Niemann all had a top 10).
Sent you a message.
I have to imagine a lot of the young guys have probably been playing a lot of golf during this break. No kids at home so I can only imagine that they have had more time to grind away.
Of course that is just speculation but it makes some sense. With that being said, I am not really targeting any specific age group. Going to just take some guys I like to take and not really think too hard about it, since I am sure there will be some randomness after a long break.
FWIW, I won the $9 Slant for the NFL Championship weekend. Was supposed to be $25,000 for 1st, but I tied with a couple other participants and got $10,700, which of course, was nice.
For the record, I used it on a down payment on a new car for my wife…which of course has lifetime benefit…as I will never again hear the words, “Are you still on that stupid computer playing those silly fantasy games?”

Webb…English….shhhhhhh, let’s keep this a secret.
Welcome back dudes!! Feels good to log into this site and get back to my process again. Hope everyone is healthy and ready to tilt Emiliano Grillo!
Now, I got the happy stuff out of the way: why does dk feel the need to make min cash in the small stakes 1.5x? Really hate when it isn’t 2x.
They get more churn of the rake and player retention when people win more often to keep playing. By going to a 1.5X min cash they can keep decent prizes up top and still pay out 25-30% of the field. I am not a fan of the payout structures and 1.5X min cashes as well but I understand why they do it.
Ben An and Joaquin Niemann at $7400 – going to be 20% owned
Ancer and Conners are grossly cheap as well
I’m going to have a couple lineups with all golfers in the 7K and 8K’s
Seems like the sweet spot for this tourney. I feel this is going to be a weird one ownership wise.
Indeed. I could also see older guys getting a lot of practice to take a break from family responsibilities. I’ll go with guys I like too!
There’s one rule I remember: always play Niemann on bentgrass greens!
Edit: Do you think Horschel is a fine pivot? He could get low ownership since he’s priced the same as Niemann and An (and Wolff and Palmer).
Ancer for all the monies.
Being that there are like seven million golfers and 6.99 million are priced too low….I wouldn’t worry about the ownership on this one.
Even if we identify someone as chalk…they might be 12 percent owned
Were there any known renovations / redesigns at Colonial in the past? I’m seeing a different type of golfer that excelled in the years 09-13 than in the years 04-08 and 14-19. It’s making me think I should only look at the 14-19 years.
