Was just wondering when some more familiar “faces” were going to show up. Welcome back!

This is our chance! A free-for-all with not knowing who’s still “good” lol

I’m wondering why the ownership projections for guys like Rory and Rahm is so high? I’m not on either of them at all. I’ll have a sprinkle of both in my MME lineups but nowhere near the 20% they are both projected at.

Bryson Dechambeau also has the lowest ownership projections of anyone over $10k and he is my favorite. Strange week for me.

I have none of them either. Thoughts on JT?

All aboard on JT. I have them Webb, Bryson and then JT. I’ll be over the field on all 3.

Where do you think Bryson and Brooks K come in ownership wise? I kinda want to anchor lineups with one of them.

Golf is back!!! I didn’t have the attention span to even mess with the Outlaw Tour, though a kid I umpired in Little League played in at least one of the events. Been mostly just throwing in the free SIM lineups on DK and FD and counting down the days. Bagged an easy $500 on FanDuel Sportsbook on Tiger/Peyton with a 10:1 odds boost.

Was going to ask BIF if he liked Sungjae with Choi on the bag, but I see that’s been covered.

LFN (or anybody), is 40 the current max iron man or are some of you at something higher?

Now, to decide whether to just go all in on fairway/short game scrubs with some elites sprinkled in or to get a little funky with it…

  • akirbyca

Likely because Bryson has awful course history in past with far weaker fields

I think they both come in at around 10%. I’m going 20-25% Bryson and like 2-4% Koepka.

I find it difficult to outright fade top names like Koepka or Rory, so I will make a few lineups with each that contain the rest of my core.

Part of me wants to max enter the Milly out of excitement that golf is back. Never max entered a contest with 150 lineups before. Anyone planning to join me?

I am at 40 on the Ironman and I think I did play all available up to now

I am maxing the $5. I’ll put 30-40 in the MM though.

    We on Brooks?

I’m taking him over Webb. He checks out at the top of the model I’m looking at for this course. The one time he played Colonial he gained 15.5 strokes over the field lol and he has that nice power fade.

Edit: It has Kevin Na as 3rd so I think I’m getting it closer to being accurate

What predictive methodology to you use? Linear Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, etc? Just interested to see what others go with.

I/m not sure I get your question, perhaps it’s in jest.

Anyways I’m plugging in what this course is. Par 70, Bent, long rough, 7200-7400. I’m also personally looking at par four scoring along with proximity from the rough. These fairways are difficult to hold and many guys will be clubbing down but everyone will be hitting out of the rough. I think CH is not very important this week due to the strength of field. Many guys who made the cut in the past will not make the cut this time around because it is a major like field.

I think the majority of guys will play the players they like or always play and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Anyways my favorite play is Niemman. I’d play him six times if DK would allow me.

Thanks. 4% Brooks? I gotta have some of that just in case he goes off.

Edit: I mean 10% Brooks still sounds good to me.

Ok, I gotcha now – you’re just playing with the weighting of different variables based on your own opinions. I thought maybe you had a predictive model that you were running different ways on historical data to give you the weights to use.

Sorry, I can’t keep track of who in here uses Data Science methodologies or not.

It’s a crap shoot in the end either way ;)

Well for me, Brooks always has win equity potential. So I like to take guys with super high upside who others will overlook because similarly talented players are playing better on paper. Would it surprise anyone if Brooks shreds it?

I looked at past events at Colonial.

pulled out a few names that could be considered hunches….
like a guy who lives in the area for a long time, probably has played this course a bunch in the last month. (I dont know but if they said the first event after covid19 was in my backyard, I would physically and mentally play it just a few times)
Next – picked a guy who I think is a hell of a golfer, young, big family, just moved before the stoppage and IMHO is playing for milk money.
Then – LOL goes with Danny Lee because its Texas and he’s 7200.

then I pick a couple of salaries guys to make pivot 1 and then use the all (well not all but 12) button for the last spot and a plethora of amazingly similar LU’s.

What type of methodology is this called?
