Woohoo! In case anyone was wondering, this event is usually played in South Korea. But it’s going to be 18 miles east-northeast of last week’s course this year. So my recency bias will be even stronger than usual.

Not really looking forward to this week after getting licked in all my lineups and by titanhawks with a never played course outside of Phil vs Tiger years back.

  • cplatt87

Got absolutley shelled by the -7 cut last week. Had lots of Laird, Wolff, Bryson, Niemann and Harman, but no 6/6s to speak of because i had 6 guys miss the cut on the number.

No cut event means ill likely play alot less this week, but this field is stacked so I’m excited for the event overall.

  • MACKTYSON

Had a great week, looking forward to another Vegas course. I was in Vegas this past weekend, probably heading back this weekend. Going heavy on Rahm here.

  • sneaksox

Looking forward to watching this course on TV since it costs roughly $2 million dollars to play a round there…

Congrats to Party Marty on the win last week, hope he’s out living up to his name right now!

  • winnerchickendinner

Anyone know what type of grass it’ll be this week?

  • naj1073

Champ killed me last week but $6400 is auto lock for me.

  • shadowchap1978

I would compare this place to Quail Hollow in Charlotte, NC in my opinion. Rory is an auto lock for me. I think this place sets up well for him.

    Hey
    its a no cut event…
Its on a new course where DFS people can scramble looking for sub events to find CH.
Its got a handful of names that deserve 10K salaries.
Its worth a ton of money to the winner (compare prizes from other golf events not on PGA tour)

Still looking forward to Mr. Breeze kicking us off Thur Morn.

Why does the CJ Cup remind me of something I used to wear when I played hockey many moons ago?

Happy Meal Cup Standings Week 5

I noticed when I am saving the doc to the cloud…Ive had confusion because folders have same names cloud and desktop. Possibly this created my problems where people couldnt access file.

So the file includes each week of the Happy Meals and a summary page.
New for this year is I am counting weeks played, total points, sum of weekly rank, then the ave of weekly rank. (I dont know what the last 2 will tell or if they live long on this sheet,)

75 people in all 5 weeks so far
151 people have played at least 1 week
30 people have played only 1 week. (Notably our spammer jriesel played week 1 and stopped)

The week 2 US Open with dbl the points stands out in our current leaderboard

Another view at the data gives us Boooooooourns as a leader with the most DFS Pts playing in all 5 weeks

Top 3 Happy Meal Cup leaders after week 5
PLAYER Cup Pts Total Rank After Wk 5
    captainsycamore 64 1
    mirkearn 60 2

Not sure why many here dislike no cut events.
You have action for all 4 days and usually the big prize tournaments don’t have ties at the top.Just like with cut events,it still takes handicapping skills and luck to win.

    I know!

“Got killed by the cut last week. But this week is a no-cut event, so I’m cutting down on my participation.”

Nice work! I like the new format. Thanks for working on this.

You could also average the DKpoints. Even better would be to normalize each score by subtracting out the mean score for that week (if you want to go full nerd, you could then also divide by the standard deviation to get a Z-score)…Then average those.

Thanks eruthruff, getting some ideas to improve and get to where I wish to go is AWESOME.

I think my goal is to be able to compare contestants over the long haul.
No way to get around most points wins, but with statistics there is always others way to compare. Counting weeks of participation is necessary. simple totals and averages are good but…..I like full nerd if it does actually differentiate.

long time out of school, dont want to strain my brain, I believe I understand what you are saying, but not exactly sure how.
normalizing, calc std dev, z-scores….Yes I want to go there.(at least for some weeks to check it out)

The only time cut and no cut matter is when it comes to circumcision.
For PGA contests, its great to have 4days of action.

  • BaroneStyle

I have to say that the Happy Meal is the first tourney entry I click on for the week. I love this as it feels like I’m on tour with each event and the standings. Not sure who created this as I am relatively newish to the forum but it’s awesome. Thank you.

I believe The last 2 event in the road to Dubai playoffs+ the WGC events are also part of the European Tour.

Edit: they also have a pro-am that plays 3 days then a cut.

Because in a cut event, I know if I have a chance after 36 holes and if I don’t there is always Showdown and Weekend Golf to play.

In a small field no cut event, you could have the Top 6 golfers after 36 holes and not even cash as everyone has 6/6 and unless you picked the foreign mini tour invites who finish 20-40 shots behind, everyone can still win 1st place in a GPP.

A small field no cut event is much better for the MME guys who have more combinations – think about it, every one of the 150 lineups is a 6/6. In a normal week, my 2 LUs out of 20 that go 6/6 can still compete against a guy who got 5-15 LUs with 6/6 on their MME.

Unless you are MME’ing, you are better off playing only the single and 3-max entries otherwise it’s a losing math problem.

Our edge as a less than MME player is to beat the MME guys in getting more 6/6’s at least as percentage of not straight up but in a no-cut, the more lineups you play, the more 6/6 you have.
