    Winner: Rahm
    fade: Tiger Rose Fowler Reed
    sleeper: Phat Pat, JB Holmes

  • BrianVT

Finau in cash makes sense since he’ll be so chalky it won’t impact your results as much. I’d just rather avoid that chalk in GPP.

  • lfn1992

Alright. Still need to make and tinker my LUs but I’m going with:

    Winner: Bubba
    Fade: Rickie Fowler
    Sleeper: Trey F-ing Mullinax

A few In Case You Didn’t Know notes:

For the South Course the most striking alterations were made to the 4th, 9th, 10th, 12th, and 17th holes. Tees were moved to make it harder to drive in the fairway and new bunkers were added.

South ranked 32nd on the PGA Tour in driving distance but 1st in driving accuracy. It also ranked 1st in 2018 and since 2014 it hasn’t ranked over 9th in accuracy. But……….

Going back to 1997, only three winners were in the top-ten in driving accuracy. Phil Mickelson was T-7th in 2000, Ben Crane was T-8th in 2010 and Justin Rose was T-8th in 2019.

Of the 21 winners since 1999, 13 of them were in the top-11 in driving distance as last year’s winner Justin Rose was 11th.

Last year Torrey Pines South was the 4th hardest in making putts inside 10 feet. In 2018 it was 5th hardest and it was the hardest in 2016 and ’17 Last year Rose was T-39th in that stat making 46 of 53 putts inside 10’.

Scrambling last year South was the 15th hardest but in previous years in 2018 it was 19th but in 2017 it was the 5th hardest, 2016 it was 2nd and over the course of the previous six years (2010-2015), the course had been in the top-ten in this stat every year.

Most of my tilt in the run-up to tomorrow involves some variation on “fade or play Finau”? so it seems like the right question. I’d suggest Finau in cash, Im in GPP

  • squidkill

This is coming from an NFL cash game player (mostly) I’m confident I can go up against anyone IN nfl CASH

sAYING THAT——I think its very hard to play cash games for golf. the variance is so great- I can’t tell you how many times I heard last week CH III and Casey were locks in cash. Ill prob stick to GPP only for golf.

Finau is in two of three of my LU’s and I’m higher on him than ever before. Only my stars/scrubs McIlroy/Rahm LU had to exclude him

His CH and RF sets up for his best week ever; I don’t want to miss that

I am in this boat as well with GPP only for PGA since it is the only sport where the highest priced guy can miss the cut and totally sink your lineup (like Justin Thomas at the Sony). In the NFL if you pay up for someone like CMAC barring a fluke injury even on a bad day he will still provide a top 10 point output for RB’s.

Made WAY more lineups than I intended, sadly, that usually means I have no grasp on the week…so here’s hoping this weekend isn’t a complete disaster.
Hopefully that’s not asking too much…
Good Luck to everyone else. Hope you can be profitable as well, as long as it’s not at my expense…

I don’t mind showdown for cash. Missed cuts aren’t an issue and several players will usually be extremely chalky. Making it more like NFL cash.

Have yet to try. Thanks for the suggestion.

So I have a question and I don’t know if it’s specific to EURO or not. I am trying to make a 5 way parlay for the Omega Masters and I want to do multiple props (X golfer finish in T20, Y golfer make/miss cut) etc. I am trying to do so but it’s not allowing me to do it. Is this normal? Are there supposed to be specific rules prohibiting that sort of parlay?

I mean, I understand you can’t pick the Nuggets +5 and a Nuggets to win parlay on NBA, for example. But it doesn’t make sense that I can’t make a hypothetical parlay for Rory to miss the cut and Rose to finish in the T20.

For some reason some sites don’t let you bet a parlay on the same game/tournament although some have “same game parlay” bets. What site are you trying on?

Well they are correlated at least weakly so not surprising that this particular parlay is disallowed. Given that Rory misses the cut, the odds of Rose T20 would theoretically increase at least a little since a strong competitor is out. But more likely that they just don’t want to look at each individual parlay for possible correlation (e.g. Rose top Euro + Rose top 20 finish) so just blanket ban them all.

  • lfn1992

Thanks guys. It is the DK sportsbook and I don’t know if my state rules enter into it too, but I think that the blanket ban is probably the issue. Oh, well. I’m a bit surprised because it’s worked well in other ways across sports, etc.

I’ve managed to end up with Sneds in cash and at first I was all about it but now I’m having second thoughts

  • Dunzor

So I’m too busy with life stuff this week to write my blog but here’s the results from last week for the Quest:

    2/20 6/6
    Best lineup:
    Scheffler
    Im
    English
    McCarthy
    Tringale
    Gooch

    Entries: $85
    Prizes: $37
    Net: -$48

    Last weeks Bankroll: $976.25
    Current Bankroll: $928.25

Luckily even though I lost on my MME I did pick my best lineup as my happy meal lineup and one of my 3 in the Mayo so that won me enough to cover the losses in the 3 20max contests plus I took down about $700 profit from MKF on Sunday.

This week I’ll be entering the same contests $3 birdie, $1 short game, $.25 quarter arcade. $85 total in entries.

Trey Mullinax, in my player pool at $6k, click reply

I’d love to know why he has not played since July or August – when I see unexplained absences, I automatically assume that he had a banned substance suspension. He played last week on the KFT but otherwise nothing since last summer.

Probably some risk here as he has not played any tournament golf in 6 months.

He’s on a medical exemption coming back so it had to be an injury I think

  • Felixxberg

Dunzor, do you look at prize structures when you choose contests for your blog?

It makes a big difference, as if you only play top heavy contests, you’ll likely lose almost every week but you could bink a big prize. In a flat structure, you could win more often.

Ya I do, but I’m only doing 20 max right now so I’m a bit limited since I don’t want to exceed 10% of my bankroll each week. I’m preferring 2x min cash and 10-15% for first if I can find it

No research to this but I feel we used to have the 1st round hero list. I believe it included Brown (not sure why I remember his name) and various others. I think jam (maybe even BIF) would have a list of those guys.

Some of the 1st round heroes I remember were: Scott Brown, Hoge, Every, P Rodgers, Dahmen for a while
