Some of the 1st round heroes I remember were: Scott Brown, Hoge, Every, P Rodgers, Dahmen for a while

Keegan, Ben An, Fowler come to mind as bigger names that tend to be Thursday heroes

So I’m too busy with life stuff this week to write my blog but here’s the results from last week for the Quest:

    2/20 6/6
    Best lineup:
    Scheffler
    Im
    English
    McCarthy
    Tringale
    Gooch

    Entries: $85
    Prizes: $37
    Net: -$48

    Last weeks Bankroll: $976.25
    Current Bankroll: $928.25

Luckily even though I lost on my MME I did pick my best lineup as my happy meal lineup and one of my 3 in the Mayo so that won me enough to cover the losses in the 3 20max contests plus I took down about $700 profit from MKF on Sunday.

This week I’ll be entering the same contests $3 birdie, $1 short game, $.25 quarter arcade. $85 total in entries.

Nice hit on the MKF. I was too scattered on my bets last weekend and only made a little. I hit the Fantasy Challenge bets hard today (both full tourney and round one). Only played a couple other things.

I’d love to know why he has not played since July or August – when I see unexplained absences, I automatically assume that he had a banned substance suspension. He played last week on the KFT but otherwise nothing since last summer.

Probably some risk here as he has not played any tournament golf in 6 months.

He got hit in the head with a golf ball in a pro-am at Colonial, serious enough to go to the hospital. He finished that week, did okay. After that, he kept playing for several weeks but missed every cut. His results before the beaning were quite different. Who knows if that was a factor, he hasn’t talked about it I don’t think.

Ya I do, but I’m only doing 20 max right now so I’m a bit limited since I don’t want to exceed 10% of my bankroll each week. I’m preferring 2x min cash and 10-15% for first if I can find it

Nice! Yep 20 max are usually better than 150 max at least.

Yah I saw that but it was only a minor concussion and really only affected him Thursday with a headache that week.

With PGA Tour being tight lipped about stuff, I was concerned he got busted for a banned substance in a pee test but if he is on a medical exemption (as said earlier) then it would have been a legit injury.

Had a good NFL year and pumped for a full field golf event – so going to swim with the sharks in the $200 single entry Driver GPP this week

I wonder why you choose 3 different MME vs 1 $5 MME ( I think Golfs big low stakes is $5 ).

    “the quest” needs a rational.
last week did the same number of LU’s cash in each of the gpp’s?

  • noddy

I am so excited for tomorrow.

  • sneaksox

    Winner: X playoff over Rose
    Fade: Tiger/Rory
Sleeper: Munoz – hasn’t really been mentioned and was still #1 at one point this year and lots of other viable options in that price range.

The $5 contest is a 150 max so I would have to put up $750 to max enter. The 3 I selected were my best options of the 20 max. I gotta grow the bankroll before I go 150 max unless I decide to start trying the minimax

And yes same number cashed in each

20-max is fun and no reason to discourage anyone to play it but the variance is absolutely crazy. You have to choose between sorta an “all or nothing” approach with just a few guys or just play 20 random lineups that are spread so thin that you wind up saying crap I have this guy In 3 lineups but all 3 of them also have this other donkey.

You just can’t cover the type of ground you can in 150 and the unique format of golf (
Mostly the cut specifically) makes 20 max an even bigger crapshoot than other sports

Anyone willing to share their take on the rough/driving accuracy here? I’ve heard anything from less relevant than normal to extremely penal and hitting fairways is crucial. Is total driving or something that weighs distance more than accuracy a better metric for TP? Do recent (as in since last year’s event) changes in rough or course alterations make this place harder for a bomber/gouger like Gooch or Wyndham?

Just starting to look at it. Couldnt tell you a single players price or what color the grass is on the course. What day is it? January?

Went with a five way more or less on MKF for first round (15x bet). Less likely to hit I know but fun still the same.
    Mcllroy less than 68.5
    Day less than 5.5 Bi+
    Mats less then 15.5 par
    Woods more than 15.5 par
    Rose more than 69.5

Have a few other smaller ones more likely to hit but MKF adds a nice little juice to the usual DFS golf plod.

This Pat Perez interview on Faherty is some of the worst TV I’ve ever seen.
