Ok, and how’s his back? and when is the presser that says he “feels good”? people say to watch that.

There are a couple clips on the pga tour app. One of them he says he needs time to get his back ready. Didn’t really say how he was feeling overall.

Jason Day was complaining about only practice putting for 30 min as opposed to his usual 2 1/2.

The guy complains that water is wet so take that for what its worth.

Great ball striker but Keegan still has to putt, right ?

Sure, but his putter didn’t stop him from making the cut the last 3 years (including a 4th place finish in 2017 and 5th in 2018). Are you saying that the field this year is significantly tougher than it’s been the last few?

I dont watch any of the podcasts or read the “experts”. Golf channel and here.

has anyone mentioned Pat Perez’s history at this course? As a teen he worked the driving range. His dad got him the job. His Dad was the official starter for all events for more than 20 years. I think he has played this course more times than anyone has a right too. I will take some extra chances on him.

As someone who has played tournament golf as a junior, this is pretty meaningless. Just because a course is your home course doesnt necessarily mean you are going to outperform your peers. Sure, it gives you a comfort level to a certain degree and probably some good memories as a kid, but that’s about it. Besides that, both courses have been completely redesigned since Perez was in his teens, so his experience at the course is even more meaningless. And on top of all that, these are professional golfers we’re talking about. The best in the world. I know people are always looking for correlations but saying “oh this guy grew up playing the course” or this guy is from California so he should do better here is, in my opinion, preposterous and reaching for something that isnt there.

So Bubba Watson never played here? Or it was all prior to 2015? Seems this course would be a good fit for him.

    League note:

I opened up a $1 Happy Meal (2) Small Fry Farmers.
This is a 20 person resizable contest that is used to allow people to get into the Happy Meal Cup (the year long contest). If you are in the 100 person contest, Your small fry does not count (if same LU it doesnt matter but even if different LU, The original contest takes precedent). So I ask you not to double enter unless you want the action its close to contest start and its not filled.

No I just usually make sure Keegan buyers know the risk and likely frustration of watching him hit it close on 9 holes and make 2 birds and at least one 3 putt.

I’ll probably have a couple based on CH and ball striking but a hard guy to go all in on with the putting challenges – he said his goal is to be an average or zero shots gained/lost putter. The problem is he only does it that every 4th tourney.

Go with who you think is going to be lesser owned.

Got it, thank you. I was probably too close to all in on Keegan, but there are enough guys I like in this range to diversify a bit. (Gooch, Rory Sabbatini , Glover, Brendan Steele, maybe even Sepp Straka). I am almost 100% on Justin Rose, his course history is just too good.

P.S. Also looking at Carlos Ortiz (6,900). And I see little mention of Gary Woodlawn, err Woodland at 9,500. I like Woodlawn enough with Rose and Finau to risk 3 budget gophers to fit them in.

That would be Joel Dahmen for sure. Probably about 5-8% vs. Keegan’s 13-15%. Dahmen doesn’t do much for me, though.

    MKF tip:

Any bet that you would make on the “Bunch of Birdies” game (for full tourney or round 1), put it on the “Fantasy Challenge” game instead. The payouts are the same. The golfers to choose from are the same. The goals are much easier to reach (as they are set up now). For instance…an average round of 4 birdies and 14 pars per golfer gets you the 3x goal in “Fantasy Challenge”. You need 6 birdies (or better) for each golfer just to reach the minimum goal in “Bunch of Birdies”.

Dahmen will be dramatically lesser owned than Keegan Bradley. I think Bradley will be 12%-15% owned. H. English will pull ownership from both of them, but Dahmen likely sub 3%.

Finau/Morikawa/Palmer is my current core. A core in the low 8K-9.3K range keeps me from slumming in the sub 7K range. This field is so packed with talent, that I refuse to go stars/scrubs. Need 6/6 on Sunday. I spend a lot of time in cash games, but will use this variation for GPP too.

Fantasynational tournament simulator loves Sebastian Munoz this week. Looking further into him and I think it might be on to something.

He missed the cut his last 6 events, but he did tie for 25th here last year. Good luck, lfn!

He usually does not give this information out until he is on the 3rd or 4th hole.

Ha, very true. I like his day one/south course under props on MKF and am not touching him on DK.

Xander is an enigma this week, he’s been on absolute fire in the strong field events for years but he never seems to do well here on his home course. Weird, not like he’s a bad driver or anything. I may take a shot on him in that range and hope the CH folks steer clear.

  • noddy

    Anyone considering Straka?

Also who’s the one golfer that’s going to finish top 5 that no one expects to?
