For fun I came up with my player pool of 19 golfers and plugged them in the LU builder. I was dubious I could come up with 150 LUs with all of them but apparently I was able to do so.

That’s impressive. I had 24 and could only get 117 lineups within target percentages

Figured as much. To that I say nope!

EDIT: I work with what’s available.

All the data is available, but you are paying for a curated source. Lot’s of work on their end

Anyone like Vaughn Taylor this week? Need a contrarian play in the 7200-7000 range….

I totally get the work on their end, but upwards of $200/year just isn’t worth it to ME. If I were maxing 150, then maybe…

In my initial pool and maybe final pool. Seems to line up well for a made cut…

Is Zac Blair ($6.7K) lfn1992’s guy?

Would you pay a lower price?

I am playing the percentages pretty lightly at the moment but I am astounded too. I must have like the perfect blend of low- mid- and high salaried golfers in there

Still like John Huh in this weak field. Had 30% of him last week and while he struggled I think his stats still line up here.

I was just thinking about that… I’m not sure. If I could get a month trial (or something more than one week) to see if the results actually improve, I’d probably fork something over. The other option would be to begin keep track myself… It’s not like I’m not all up in the stats week-to-week. After I’ve collected enough data, maybe I could have a site too. Ha-ha…

Outside of the stats, I think the lineup builders are pretty cool. I don’t know if I could build one of those myself.

I use RG LU builder so I agree. It’s nice that they offer that for free.

EDIT: I think we’d come up with something in terms of a LU generator if we put our minds to it. RG uses their projections so that would be the first thing; a projected total for every player in the field (x N; depending on number of sites you support). If you have a hole somewhere, fill it with your highest projected player that fits price plus parameters.

There are free optimization libraries from google which could probably perform the same task(after some elbow grease). As a bonus they are written in your native language of c++

What do we think Billy Ho’s ownership might be?

Do other sites (careful not to name any) offer LU builders?

I think RG is the only free one in town. However, I’m probably the wrong person to ask since I don’t use a lineup builder

Apparently I was not… Thanks for clarifying! I meant to say, he putts better on bermuda versus himself ;)

EDIT: So Matt Jones is a 1/2 stroke worse putting on Bermuda? Ugh

My problem with jones is his accr. @ Byron Nelson he did great bringing his % up and at 50th best. Before that, you could count on him to always be below 100th (bad) OTT
Open up the fairway and he is ok…
And Trinity was wide wide open, hard to miss a fairway

Approach (146th), Accuracy (123rd) and Proximity (143rd) are all concerning to me… He might just be one of those CH/FORM plays where you ignore stats?

  • Quadhole

Would be nice to have a lifetime stat on guys (finishing position overall) with a WD, or MC calculated as 70. Thus, Kuch would be a 15th
    Jones a 49th
Me in DK golf a 753

yes, seen that, but the longer i do this, more away from ch i go.
Sorry, was eating wings and typing at the same time, not good!

Away from CH a lot more, I do count it some, depends upon course and guy, which in this situation, of all the course, why has he done well here? Maybe he is great OUT OF THE ROUGH. Looking back a couple years, he usually plays a lot in April, May and then June, thus, lots of practice leading up to this tournament. This year, not at all, couple in April, then the Byron where he could rip it and not worry so much. Just think he comes in primed to Miss fairways THIS YEAR Here.

Yep. Been burned quite a few times leaning on CH… I’m looking at you, Luke Donald (Harbour Town)
