Justify left no doubt about it, great Triple Crown runs by him.

That was amazing! What a horse. Didn’t think Gronk would come from dead last. Great run by him.

Didn’t have enough faith and only played a show bet on him. Didn’t hit on anything else unfortunately.

I could have key’d the 1 on top with my other bets and still made profit. I figured wrong…I wanted to see weakness and I thought I found it in Justify. He had a second gear. LOL, I tell ya the way Gronk entered and left the turn, I saw him taking the race..Its such a long stretch I was already counting my cash. I still say if you think the favorite is weak go big.

And what if Putnam morphs into Ted Potter tomorrow?

Yea you are right. Anything can technically happen tomorrow like with Ted Potter winning earlier this year. However, I guess I just meant the odds are far more likely for DJ to win, so I’ll play my odds with him and hope Putnam fades. Since Putnam is so high priced himself, that would mean I cannot choose him in that many lineups (some will have both though but I also feel like that isn’t the smartest strategy – gotta think about it some more). I don’t recall playing the Weekend tournies when Potter won, so maybe I don’t have bias from that.

But you are right. Anything can happen in reality. Putnam definitely isn’t a 0% shot to win, but the way I’m making lineups, I have him 0% to win the whole thing since I will be going with 100% DJ. I won’t have a single team that does not have DJ.

This will be a lot different at the US Open for example because I’m assuming all the top 10ish players on Sunday will be elite players whereas the talent difference here is like between a #1 ranked player (if DJ wins tomorrow) vs. a player not in the top 250 (Putnam). At the US Open or most other tournaments, I would never do something like go 100% the favored leader because there isn’t a huge talent gap.

You should go back and look at the US Open leaderboards, there are always 2-3 longshots who finish T10 and if you go to 12-15 you can always make it three players….how quickly you forgot X and Mullinax Ly….both were 500/1 to win.

Right, but the majority are elite players unlike this scenario tomorrow where it’s #1 vs. a player not in the top 250. There’s always a few here and there but even those ones aren’t terrible (Xander is a top 30 player now).

But in those cases, you still do what I say above, you choose the elite player. I think the 2016 US Open is a good one to look at. Lowry was 1st and Landry was tied for 2nd. If you chose either one of them for Showdown on Sunday (if it existed then), you would have been screwed. DJ easily won. It’s kinda like the same thing tomorrow, but I’m just saying for the US Open there are more choices for the elite player instead of tomorrow where it’s DJ and only DJ. If Brooks had a better round, this would be more interesting.

well dj did his thing and poston was not bad for my pick to click at -2 but koepka was meh and phil was wtf?! he sounded so confident yesterday saying if i can shoot 4-5 under i’ll be right back in it. fail. but still had a fun day missed the triple crown, lost a little bit but had a fun golf outing at orchard valley aurora, illinois. my brother won a driver and i won 4 white sox box seats (i know, worth 10 cents but i am a fan).

round 4 scoring this year in this field…
    phil 3 grrrr
    lindheim 7th hmm
schindler 7th hmm but only 4 rounds
bozzelli 10th maybe a decent flyer
    lashley 10th
    mitchell 12th
uihlein 15th i think good play

i wanted to play poston again, but his 4th round record is one of the worst on tour. instead i’ll play who is putting best lately. and the round 3 strokes gained putting are the same 3 as the event overall, gay, thornberry, and my round 4 pick to click, chez reavie. good luck all in showdown and 4 day!

So after you have played round four showdown for a few weeks how does the finishing place points effect the overall results?

Good Sunday Morning & YAY GOLF!

Thoughts are turning to the US Open, but first let’s finish up today with a bang.

Played one Showdown line up today

    Billy Horschel
    Dustin Johnson
    Denny McCarthy
    Trey Mullinax
    Chez Reavie

Good Luck Y’all, you will need it.

  • fanturds

there was some decent overlay to be had on showdown. who knew degenerate gamblers don’t wake up early on sunday.

  • noddy

My 4 golfers have to do much better today than yesterday. I fell below the cash line I’m many double ups and 50/50’s. Need to come back today. Phil. List. Kirk. Uihliem. LFG!!!!!

  • noddy

I fell for the List hype and Crane. When am I going to learn???

  • flip4flop

I just don’t understand how List was so bad here. Crane I fell for and graded out in the 40s for me but List was top 10 for me and he just tanked after the cut. Wonder if something is wrong. Just seems off to be that bad here.

  • MrBreeze

GD Charl! this guy is boogering up my monies!

  • noddy

    Thank you Phil!

  • lfn1992

    Wu Ashun, what the hell

  • lfn1992

Korhonen wins the Shot Clock Masters and is the only guy with the U70 bonus, that helps

Do they give him the clock also for winning.

  • Dunzor

well my full week guys can’t make a damn birdie today, got List / Jones / Uihlein to go along with DJ and I’m hovering right around the cash line in GPPs but if none of those guys goes on a run soon with some birdies I’m not gonna have a chance

meanwhile my showdown guys are just starting to tee off now so maybe they’ll be the ones to start going off today

  • mistermoneybags

So looks like Billy Horschel is going to be the turd in the punchbowl today…
