One of the hardest courses, cut line has been over par the last 2 years.

Early look there does not appear to be many guys with very strong course history. Luke Donald, Paul Casey, Russell Knox have been very strong though.

This event was a cut massacre last year, had a couple 0/6.teams and I know I wasn’t alone.

  • TommyWantWingy33

Gee wiz have had a rough couple weeks just what I need a tough course. May not even play this week.

Lol your probably right. Just need to do some better research this week.

No salaries yet on DK, but from looking at the Vegas odds, Luke Donald should have a very affordable salary for his stellar course history.

Funny thing about this course is we hear about “The Bear Trap”, and how its one of the hardest 3 hole stretches in golf. While that might be true for a 3 hole stretch, 2011 was the last time any one of those holes actually ranked in the top 3 toughest holes of the tournament. I think it was hole 16.

Last year holes 6, 14, 10, 11 ranked before any one of the Bear Trap holes (15,16,17) in terms of difficulty. In fact 6,14,10 and 11 were ranked in the top 50 toughest holes of last season.

I do tend to stay away from players like that, but Donald has easily the best course history here, and it’s not like the winning score is going to be super low, so he should hopefully be a nice anchor for a decent finish at an affordable salary.

Just remember Luke Donald’s win at the Honda came at C.C. at Mirasol course not PGA National. But yes he has solid form here

Yeah, I was more thinking about having top 10s in his last 4 appearances here; including the last 2 years. What I like most is that he came here last year in absolutely dreadful form and still put up a 7th place finish, so there is definitely something he likes about this course.

  • walkoff9

How many years has it been at this course?

I forsee me having quite a bit of Ian Poulter this week if his price matches the vegas odds.

  • cowbell204

Prices are up, everyone seems really cheap.

  • reeses

And salaries are up. Surprised by some of the pricing up top and can definitely see a number of guys around 7K i won’t be passing up.

DJ is all over Da Burgers, who do you like Gibbathy?

My initial reaction at that price point is if everyone is on Berger then I’m pivoting to Dufner. Never missed a cut on this course, has one top 10 here and much better form this season.

Just a little food for thought about Luke Donald. This is the first time he is playing this course since his long time caddie fired him (thats right the caddie fired Donald. Plus his kids birthday is on Friday. I will still have some Donald, but prefer a few other Englishmen, Casey, Sully and Fitzy as a GPP play.

My last tidbit is. Sergio Garcia has not missed back to back cuts in non major events since 2003.

  • Stickman731

No surprise Rory highest salary and all the experts overwhelming favorite. Interestingly the course is only 20-30 minutes from his home in Jupiter. He stated last week he only slept in his own bed 2-3 weeks last year.

There are a lot of guys I want to play. Looks like this will be the 1st week this season I am gonna play multiple lineups. However. 1 guy I will not play is knox. Ive picked him twice and hes missed the cut both times. Needs to show me some form before I play him again.

    +1

Like so many guys this week even though some people course history here is so shotty.

  • al0e_neill

Looking for some input here based on other guys experience.. I usually wager about 15% of my bankroll which puts me in position to make between 3-4 lineups most weeks. I’ve been making these teams with only a little bit of overlap… maybe 16 guys for 3 teams or something along those lines. Should I be looking at forming a solid group of players who I like and space them across various teams with more overlap and sprinkle in some punt plays or stick with my larger variance of players. Looking for some insight from guys who have been playing a long time on which system works better in the long run.
