Did you play this week? Or just weekend?

Weekend only. My team is 6 European Tour players (5 Euros + Louie), and it’s like right at the cash line (like maybe 1-2 points above) in double ups (15 points back in GPPs – I don’t expect it to cash in GPPs). Earlier on I thought I would be behind after Saturday, but Noren and Fleetwood went bananas to make up for my other 4 who were all terrible.

I would imagine wind really helps someone like Alex Noren who has historically only played on the Euro Tour and who has mutliple wins in the wind, including one in the monsoon at the Scottish Open a few years ago (I only know that one because that’s when I was introduced to Noren).

Wind generally adds variance, but the bigger the wind, it could potentially add +0.5 SGs over the course of a round over the field for a good player like Noren. It’s not much, but still worth something. Louie should also be really good in the wind too since he’s a great links player, but today, although he shot -1, which is ok, he made only 2 birdies which is bad for weekend golf.

If you played the regular 4 day tourney, pay attention to placement points. They can swing you tons of positions because everyone is so close and placement points are worth a lot more relative to birdies this week. For example, diff between 1st and 3rd is like 12 placement points, which is 4 birdies, which is a round’s worth of birdies.

Good luck tomorrow with your weekend team.. my full week lineup should cash in double ups fairly stress free barring catastrophe.. I have Fleetwood, Dufner, Berger, Scott.. I lost Howell to MC and Kaymer to WD… very seriously considered pieters>Howell as I had the money but didn’t do it unfortunately

Anyone think Noren can win tomorrow? My only bet of the week at 28 to 1.

Yes, but you can always hedge probably with Thomas/Fleetwood. I doubt Lovemark or Webb will win, although if they do, good job cause that would be super unexpected. I think Noren > Lovemark even though he’s behind now.

I think Noren has a chance.

I am officially third in the albatross going into today with Webb, Berger, Fleetwood, Grillo, Pieters and Ollie.

  • cagejables

Good luck today everyone—need Fleetwood to be the GOAT he is (100% on weekend, 55% on four-day) but looking forward to some good golf regardless

WGC Mexico. Limited field …. no cut. Not sure if there is an alternate event. The Puerto Rico open is showing a 2 day pro am.

I got 2nd in the $4 Euro (had a good team w/ Pepperell, unfortunately guy in 1st somehow had a 6/6 with .7% Fernandez-Castano and was able to win even without the 15% owned winner) and the guy in 3rd (just 4 points behind me and 11 out of first) had a 5/6. If Colsaerts would have missed the cut (he made it by 1 shot with a birdie on the 18th) 5/6 would have taken this even on a Par 72 with very high per-round scoring.
